His light descending into her horizon, the sky awash with the colours of ecstasy. 

The insects and the birds sing louder in symbiotic symphony. 
They know this is a sacred time, as, once again day becomes night. 

This is a live set inspired by the majesty of the sunset over the jungle. 
A collection of outstanding music from around the world, mixed live and improvised with. 

Intending to create the feeling of a tribal orchestra, jamming together in joyous celebration.

Nicolá Cruz is a master of meaningful engagement. Whether he's studying North African melodies or spiritual chants, he shows profound respect for a given sound's cultural context. This is evident across his entire discography. His earliest releases on Multi Culti and ZZK Records layerered traditional woodwinds and percussion with folktronica and tribal house, reflecting a holistic understanding of global rhythms. His more recent work takes an adventurous, polyglot approach to club music, with EPs on Highlife, Rhythm Section and Tra Tra Trax exploring breaks, acid and other spirally sounds. But even his deep, drum-heavy techno cuts feel unusually organic, vibrant polyrhythms bursting with character.

For his RA Podcast, the Ecuador-based producer shows off his rave education. This display of futuristic chuggers and electro—Marcela Dias Sindaco's "A Flor Da Pele" is a particular highlight—speaks to Cruz's deep appreciation for body music. He treats dance floor jams with the same nuance as culturally significant sounds, a testament to his versatility, knowledge and experience. Journeying across acid basslines and dubby electronics, the 73 minute-long ride flirts with psychedelia, distortion and experimental bleeps, with many of the selections reflecting his own taste for colorful patterns. It's energetic and warm, flush with life, until the very end.

The invitation to create a contribution to the lovely Cosmocast for me was clearly connected with the heartfelt desire to express my joy about the approaching spring awakening here in the middle latitudes with an uplifting set full of danceable lightness. Since my emotional mood has changed abruptly due to the current war in Ukraine and the associated geopolitical upheavals, I decided to rather share this peaceful mix consisting of gentle electronic healing vibes with the world. Let us never forget that we are one human family. Even if we often don't see it or don't want to realize it, we are meant to be connected in peace. May these harmonies help to reduce pain and strengthen confidence. НЕТ ВОЙНЕ! Somos uno.

Another dream came true as I played the Sunday noon set at Pyramid Yoga, the biggest Ecstatic Dance venue and event in Koh PhaNgan, where i've been dancing and living for many years.

I was so happy to see the people dance, jump, and shout to the wide-ranging journey of beats-infused world music I played.

A few highlights:
- Beats and Bass-infused vocals and music from Native-american, New-Zealand Mauri, Russian,  Tibetan, Amazonian, Aboriginal Australian, Indian, Turkish, Brazilian, Balkan,  and LOTS of African
- A traditional African acapella, an upbeat electronic remix of it, and samples that return many times during the whole journey
- A few other vocal and melodic African songs
- My newest track, a tribal remix of "Stone gods of Bimini", by Ixtahuele

Our guest for this release is a Musician and 'Ecstatic Dance' DJ.
He is inspired by growing up in a multi-cultural family, playing classical piano for 7 years, life-long dancing and music-collecting, 20 years of traveling, and an extensive study, practice, and teaching of yoga, tantra and body/energy work. 'Ethnic' is his middle name - He weaves devotional, folk, organic and electronic music from cultures and ethnic groups around the world into dance journeys that invoke the mystic, the lover and the animal within us.

Hey AKA Tapes Listeners,
I was excited to be invited to prepare a journey for Aka-Tapes.
I am very passionate about all kinds of African music lately.
With the artistic and creative freedom that Tony offers, it was clear that i wanted to play include lots of jazzy, funky, blues-y African music.
This was a challenging decision and a long process because some of the songs were difficult to mix together, and I’m very happy with how it came out.
