Bassic Records second various artist compilation is a proud work, combining global talents and ideas to form a journey-like release created in hope to accrue aspiration, inspire and resonate through dance floors. Compiled by Bassic label head ZigMon with the aim of showcasing what the Bassic Records sound is; not bound by genre but driven by purpose. To represent the natural, progressive, deep, dark and uplifting sounds in the outdoor electronic music scene, namely where he resides and is inspired by on the Australian east coast. From the tantalizing colour of Doppel to the heavy psychedelia of Zimbardy, this VA will take you through the labyrinth, you will be lost in techno.

The partaking producers call a range of different countries home, truly bringing forth distinctive and vibrant musical culture; Portugal, Mexico, Brazil, UK, France, New Zealand, USA, Mauritius, Denmark and of course Australia bred the artists you hear on this release. Consisting of Bassic Records label artists including Doppel, Ken Zo and Matt Dwellers, fresh new artists on Bassic’s roster Gabriel Moraes, Concrescent and Zombie Apocalypse, amazing input from Australian producers Louis Emile and Placeholder and international artists Ben Coda, One Man Orchestra, Flembaz, Quinema and Mose Robert. The final track is a piece by Zimbardy, an exceptional producer and young man who devastatingly passed in late 2015 less than two weeks after we received this track to master for this VA. It is an honour to release this for him and we know he will feel the vibrations every time it is played wherever he may be. This release is for him, as much as it is for you.

There is no reason why you shouldn’t own and listen to this release whenever you feel, so we present it to you without cost, though financial support is always warmly welcomed here at Bassic Records. “This Moment” portrays the stirring benefits produced from the unbound platform for expression that is electronic music, that we as creators and listeners revel within.

“Many times I find myself, as a music producer, explaining to people the virtues of electronic music and why it is an art form. But in the end it doesn’t really matter what other people think, this is the only thing there is: you, the music and this moment.”
The vocal recorded by Ken Zo and the original track crafted by himself and Doppel, the torch was then passed to One Man Orchestra (aka Westerby) and Victor Y (aka Bass To Pain Converter) who masterfully moulded these final pieces.

Their haunting, deep and powerful recreations delve deeply through elements of progressive, techno and minimal tech house. The fleshy basslines of each track forge a life of their own; in unison with the expansive and emotive soundscapes they create undeniable odysseys.

A Journey Into Hyperspace | #021

Having had a remarkable start to 2016 with self aclaimed ‘Illicit Behaviour’ EP, Hot Creations & Paradise pacesetter - Jamie Jones - serves up his latest instalment via the Emerald City imprint.

Leading track ‘Land Of The Giants’ flows into rich orchestral elements, followed up by prominent electronic wobbles before switching the pace - implementing a complex instrumental structure from the get go. Collaborating with Hero Twins (Timothy D Jones – brother to Jamie – and Tarhan Ozkan) for the release, they introduce faint, haunting vocals, paired with a low rolling and distorted bassline to create an underground masterpiece.

In contrast to the title release, ‘The Shoplifter’ focuses solely on the electronic layers weaving throughout the record. The stripped back instrumental resonates a thumping bassline in turn with reverberating bleeps and a murmuring female vocal hook. The breakdown lends its ear to fierce, punchy orchestral chords before signing things off with echoing percussion – transcending Jamie’s ‘Lands Of The Giants’ EP as one of his most experimental workings yet.
