A trip to the 80s, 90s, or 2000s is just an average day for JOHENN, a small artist from Brooklyn, New York who debuted on Soundcloud in 2019. In 2024, they released their highly anticipated album, "MAGIC", which ultimately ignited their motivation to continue doing music.

The titular track of the album, alongside most of the songs in the second act of the record, are inspired by the electronic synths and beats of the 80s. And that's not where the trip through time ends. Their singles, "F**k Off to Hell", featuring Luke Mirov, and "Behind My Back", were heavily inspired by the fierce and grungy sounds of the 2000s.

And this is only the start of another chapter for Josh. "I really want to try and explore more sounds and visual aesthetics," they said. "I've always been sonically inspired by older eras of music and fashion, and I wanna make pop music where people'll go, 'That's not just inspired, that's authentic' and see some nostalgia in my art."
