In October 2025, a familiar frequency pulses back into range: IMOGEN and Ben Pest return to Wigs Records with Hellangel — a five-track EP and the long-awaited follow-up to their 2021 debut Volts. Where Volts introduced their shared language, Hellangel is its acceleration: more refined in shape, but more volatile in spirit a focused detonation of bleep techno, acid and electro filtered through the fierce individuality of two singular producers.

Though its parts are sculpted with precision, Hellangel is not polite music. It growls and contorts in unexpected ways, leaning into the body while constantly dodging expectations. Ben Pest’s unruly modular squelch meets IMOGEN’s razor-sharp rhythmic instincts, creating a dynamic that feels like a live wire conversation.
Across the EP’s five cuts, genre is less a boundary than a palette: warping acid lines intersect with UK-inspired low-end pressure, modular patterns collapse into tense breakdowns; high-energy electro grooves distort into tension and noise.   This is music built not just for clubs, but for sound systems, and it finds its spiritual home in Wigs’ upcoming takeover of Berlin’s legendary Tresor, where Wigs holds its club residency. Spanning both the Tresor and Globus floors, the launch will feature Ben Pest [LIVE], IMOGEN, and a carefully curated cast including Roza Terenzi, Akua, FAFF, and Dyslecta, mapping the contours of the label’s forward-facing sonic identity in real time.

Hellangel is not an extension of Volts, nor a reinvention. It’s a sharpening. A record that doesn’t just develop their collaboration but makes the case for it as something essential. Across these tracks, you hear not only the collision of two strong musical minds, but a shared refusal to flatten their voices into something safe. The result is not a fusion, it’s a doubling.

IMOGEN announces the launch of her Wigs label with the inaugural release WIGS001. The EP is scheduled for 1st of December, boasting collaborations with DJ Stingray 313, Ben Pest, DJ Plant Texture and Jerome Hill.

WIGS001 EP takes off with a strong pairing, IMOGEN and DJ Stingray 313 join forces to mark their first production collaboration with ‘A New Earth‘. The single comes out on 9th of November and it is a hefty track blending electro and techno in an elegant and energetic fashion. ‘Synthesised Heart‘ teams up IMOGEN and a long time favourite Bristolian Ben Pest to offer a hypnotic mixture of grainy and noisy electro textures laced with acid basslines.

Second half of the release is where DJ Plant Texture and Jerome Hill come to play. ‘What Should I Do Next‘ from DJ Plant Texture proves there‘s no time to waste. Sophisticated percussion and chopped up broken vocals persisting throughout form a propelling dancefloor driving force. Lastly, Jerome Hill‘s ‘Hoods Up‘ loops a catchy sample, twisting the four to the floor approach into a layered acid jacking frenzy that builds up with vigour and patience.

Wigs kicked off as a project aimed to offer a new approach to party series and workshops with an emphasis on community, bringing like minded ravers together to build a platform for the next generation of artists and party goers. Wigs has hosted sold out parties and workshops across Europe bringing names such as Daria Kolosova, UR Trax, Salome, Aquarian and more. Wigs also hosts a radio residency on NTS where IMOGEN has played b2bs with Helena Hauff, Sunil Sharpe, Identified Patient and more. Wigs will be coming to New York for the first time this November to host a special in store to celebrate the release as well as an in store showcase in London at Phonica on December 1st to celebrate the release day.

WIGS002 kicks off with heavy breaks and kick drums bringing a rough hardcore vibe to IMOGEN’s latest single ‘SHOUTOUT 2 LDN’, premiered by radio legend Mary Anne Hobbs on her Radio 6 show. 

IMOGEN samples a vocal from her favourite 90s MC Alex Pearce, adopting the same “zero f***s attitude” of the early 2000s techno scene. She combines this with squelching reese basses and slick programmed breaks to bring the same energy of early warehouse parties to the dancefloors of today. 

Next up, Grace Dahl departs from her usual rolling techno style with electro banger ‘I Like Em Sexy’. A fast-paced distorted vocal slides its way through the drums into an epic breakdown before an unexpected 4/4 drop. IMOGEN and Dahl’s musical chemistry shone in their B2B on the Wigs NTS show, making this the perfect A-side combo of the EP. 

Upcoming Italian DJ and producer Rebecca Alle Paine keeps up the EP’s high energy with the perfect DJ tool of rolling 909 drums. Hardgroove is having its resurgence right now and Rebecca is a leading light in the genre currently flooding the scene. Wigs isn’t the only label to pick up on Rebecca’s driving style - she recently released an album on hardgroove legend Ben Sims’ label as well as featuring on Freddy K’s KEY. It is clear Rebecca is one to watch for 2024. 

NVST closes off the EP in a mind bending Aphex Twin-style crescendo. ‘A Face Has No Voice’ is an eight minute long saga boasting her skill as a multiverse producer. It follows a journey through dub, breaks and IDM. WIGS002 showcases the true diversity of the next generation of musicians, and that one piece of music can traverse many genres.

The word "resistance" is deeply embedded in the ethos of techno. For her debut release on the Tresor Records, the British artist and Tresor resident, IMOGEN, explores the concept of resilience; a related and equally vital concept.

Taking its name from a theological term meaning a fundamental change of mind or spiritual conversion, Metanoia is fuelled by IMOGEN's processing of what she describes as one of the most challenging years of her life.

Any struggle against injustice or misfortune takes time and effort which requires finding a fortitude within, not only to surpass the hardship itself but to not lose ourselves to despair or bitterness in the process.

IMOGEN's journey is summed up in the lead track, The Way She Moves - resilience is, after all, a persistence to continue, to move forward. The struggle against hardship is laid out in track titles like Tired Bones and Growing in the Dark before a sense of catharsis is reached in Breathe Again and Melancholy Flower. 

The music similarly mirror her experiences, passing through sadness, anger, before ultimately landing at acceptance and a newfound drive for self-actualisation and greater interoception; after all, the end goal of any resistance is liberation.

The rubber hits the road for a studio mix like no other and British selector IMOGEN’s in the driving seat. Her roots in Southampton and later London are the funnel through which her urban-inflected frequencies travel, an articulation of years spent listening to The Prodigy, Ellen Allien and Umwelt, dark-electro with allusions to UK bass. At a mere 16 years old, she moved to the Big Smoke to study Music Tech, became a regular on Radar Radio and was playing in the booth at Berghain a short two years later, with a Fabric residency quickly in tow. 2022 saw her debut EP out on Voitax, an enthusiastically received five track gem that wore her love of breaks and monolith techno confidently. She’s now both Tresor and NTS Radio resident and founder of Wigs, an online hub through which she helps peers connect turned event series and music label. There’s too much to cover before catching your breath really, but it’s openness to experience and energy, not age, that pay the highest dividends. Thoroughly steeped in these internet times, IMOGEN has found a voice that breaks through the wall of endless and indistinguishable sounds and delivers on a pledge to get crowds moving. Bassiani Podcast does that, rattling beats that shapeshift to the breaks weighted sounds synonymous with a UK upbringing, this is a call back to corporeal experience. A 90-minute direct line to the essence of techno from one of the UK’s most promising names.

NTS DECEMBER 2025 - ELECTRO SPECIAL

The term annex typically describes a structure joined to a main building, offering extra space or function. In this spirit, Tresor Records revives the ANNEX series with a new end-of-year collection that serves as an extension of the label and club’s output, adding to the creative life that has unfolded within Köpenicker Str. 70 over the past years.

Since the club moved in 2007, the Kraftwerk complex has been repurposed from its original use as a power station to fulfil multiple functions that bring people together to collaborate and congregate: Office, venue, club, exhibition space, and home to the Berlin Atonal festival, the Tresor Foundation, and the Academy of Subcultural Understanding. With the arrival of the Hard Wax record shop in 2023, the building now offers another way for the like-minded to come together and to share ideas in a common space.

ANNEX echoes the many roles of the building by fostering introduction, connection, and creation: all of the music within was created by individuals directly linked to Tresor: from club staff and residents to Hard Wax employees and long-time friends.

Across 28 tracks, the compilation unites artists from various backgrounds and generations, some collaborating for the first time, creating a moment in motion as Tresor heads into a new year.
