The latest project by "El Gusano", a moniker of the elusive Pablo Arrangoiz, aka Dj Fitness, Bauzer Vep, Señor Faxwater, Glue Boy, Goiz and too many more to list (seriously, check out his Bandcamp/Discogs). Arrangoiz is a Mexican native based in Miami, known as much for his ever varying aliases as he is for his scrupulous production and sui generis live and DJ sets. Focused on incorporating Latin ritmos with contemporary elements of his other influences such as house, techno, free jazz, German new wave, electro, Miami bass, noise, and more, Arrangoiz’s production, much like the artist himself, is one of a kind. Saka La Bolsita", the inaugural release on Impacto, the new label and love child of Miami producers Nick León and Jonny From Space, is a sonic conglomeration of acid cumbia with slivering jazz chords, microtonal reggaetón constructed with a tuning system made by finding the overtones of air conditioners, demonic dembow with a dash of house, Autotune Festival sex music, and all out pure ratchet core with an El Chavó sample. To celebrate the endless journey of Vv Pete’s West Sydney anthem ‘Frauds’ Trackwork are releasing a slew of new remixes from local club heavy hitters DJ Plead, Strict Face, Rydeen & Grasps. 

Accompanying Mall Grab’s explosive remix of Frauds earlier this year, the collection spans hard hitting percussion to emotional trap landscapes utilising Vv’s iconic vocal delivery, and unique instrumentation of producer’s Utility & Cassius Select.

Adelaide’s Strict Face finally drops his metallic, Baile Funk-infused rework that has been playing throughout clubs for the last 6 months, surfacing in mixes including a recent Utility & Vv Pete mix for NTS Radio with YL Hooi. Grasps (of Sydney power duo Agony) weaves melodically rich textures, while fellow Sydney-based producer and DJ, Rydeen, sculpts a club ready heater with eccentric, chopped up layers of samples. 

After murdering Trackwork’s Vivid Sydney show ‘Club Service’, as well as a current EU Tour, Lebanese-Australian club legend DJ Plead’s relentless yet subtly buried Duduk trills lay under a bed of percussive claps, and highly active sub patterns framing Vv in completely new light.

Exciting news on the horizon: There's a new EP from el Duro Durán. Pa' Bailar is the new work of the Colombian-Swiss artist, in which he collaborates with his old talented pana, Parco Palaz. We have three tracks to get lost in the depths and eroticism that a dark, sweaty and hot dancefloor can present. After a long time, Luca once again dabbles in fast tempos that intertwine nostalgia and incisive percussive programming, whilst also slower, more sexy bends, as on "Ojos Cerrados".

And right there, in that track, is where the remixes stay. Perko makes a special intersection that Ricardistas and Basic Chanel fans will enjoy very much. Last but not least, one of London's prodigal sons, Laksa, makes a fabulous decision: 143 bpm half tempo | half guaracha.

Lacuna, a brand-new imprint by Dublin-based DJ Cachai has just launched. The label aims to map out prescient club sounds from artists around the globe. For their first release, Chile's Ripio and London's DJ Double Oh! are up with a split EP showcasing four exhilarating tracks of hybridised latinx bass sounds from across both sides of the Atlantic.

In 'Arranca', DJ Double Oh! is riding a patient tribal groove with a glorious momentum that’ll have dancefloors sweating with warm-adled glee.
