super cool, funny and danceble...and well crafted!

the microrhythm in the bass feels a little off to me, not sure if it's because that kind of sound is usually on the grid or if it would work better with a slightly different sort of offset. nitpicking aside, still one of my favorites of the round.

I'm not sure if I like the repetitiveness of the high sound, or would like it to have more variation - either way its fun to listen to.

Really great work with Thorn sound design.

To top it off, Caligari’s Remix of Mulder and Scully brings us back to the dark and moist world of wonders. Adding a special sauce with distant, almost mermaid-like calls, you will know that something is not right, even though everything seems calm, nice, and cozy.

The Awakening is a playful musical journey through the battle within—an exploration of self-doubt, fear, and the struggle to break free. It captures the voice inside that holds us back, the moments of uncertainty, and the eventual realization that the only true enemy is ourselves.

Krit was a small boy, often feeling like he didn’t quite fit in.
Despite his achievements, there was always a quiet voice telling him, 
"You don’t belong". 
He told himself it was normal, part of growing up. But it never went away. 
Then one night, he had a dream.

🌅 Act 1: The Dream
He ran through wide, golden fields, feeling light and free. For the first time in a long time, he didn’t have to think, everything just felt right.

🌑 Act 2: The Nightmare
Suddenly, the world grew still. The fields shrank, and a shadow appeared in front of him.
"You don’t belong."
The air thickened. He couldn’t move, and the doubt that always lingered felt overwhelming.
"You are nothing."

⚔️ Act 3: The Ascent
A shift. Krit started to move. Slowly at first, then faster. The shadow loomed, but he kept going. The doubt didn’t disappear, but it no longer held him back.

🌟 Act 4: The Awakening
He pushed forward, the weight lifting with each step. The shadow faded, and with it, the doubt.
Krit didn’t stop. He had awakened, and nothing would hold him back again.

As always, a track that I made in the last days. The drums, choirs, distorted rhythm tracks and some of the SFX are made from scratch, the rest is a slightly modified stock presets. This synth reminds me a bit of old Massive (but with much better looking graphics) in terms of functionality and signal path. The glitch sequencer and arpeggiator are really handy to create interesting patterns. The effects section is pretty cool, especially the distortion module, an ultimate spice of the synth that I used (if not to say "abused") all the time. It can range from subtle saturation to a face melting tones. Also, this synth is great for making electronic drums and cymbals (though I would prefer to select the noise in the oscillator to be able to stack three noise sources in the single patch). This synth would definitely fit my setup.

Made for the One Synth Challenge #193 with 37 instances of DS Audio Thorn in FL Studio 2024. Every sound is created from scratch in Thorn, no samples allowed and external effects shouldn't affect the sound too much. That's the One Synth Challenge. This time let's go to a space exploration or something like that i don't know, i'm absolutely aweful at writing texts like that. Anyway, i hope you enjoy this track :D

Space Disco (OSC#193 - DS Audio Thorn)

Inspired by First Knight, this track tells the story of Camelot’s rise and fall. At first, the kingdom thrives in peace and prosperity. Then, the arrival of Lancelot brings both hope and glory to Camelot, but also ignites a spark in Guinevere’s heart. Torn between duty and desire, she is consumed by guilt and despair, knowing she has given herself to Lancelot despite her promise to Arthur. As their forbidden love unfolds, tensions grow, and when Arthur discovers the truth, emotions and loyalties are tested. The music reflects both the fierce battles on the battlefield and the silent struggles within the hearts of its greatest heroes, culminating in the inevitable fall of the legendary kingdom.

A minor silliness for One Synth Challenge 193, perpetrated in Reaper using:

DS Thorn - 28 instances for 13 instruments, 6 of those percussion. 
All single layer, the difference due to voice spitting. 
light clean-up duties performed by TDR Nova.
Widening of pads by A1 Stereo Control
A minor amount of delay applied to said pads with HY-Delay 4.
A smidge of reverb on the bass by Supermassive.
Snipping of drums done by CHOP & Flux Bittersweet.
Reverberated by several Protoverb and Supermassive, 
with the assistance of HOFA Pan & Delay, TDR Nova, A1 Stereo Control & JS MIxer.
At the master level, general polishing was done by TDR Nova, A1 Stereo Control & Bittersweet.
All louderizing by Limiter No6.
