just recorded as fun. it was kinda treat to ourselves who were seriously engaged with the festival Where have All The Flowers gone? a tribute to late American Folk singer/activist Pete Seeger. The Song talks about electric post that are deprived of electricity and compared them with electric poles in VIP colonies. we are tired of singing about men and women. why not sing about rivers and electric poles.

In december 2010, Imphal talkies shared the song online 
with the following press release
"The world calls her the Iron Lady acknowledging her undying spirit.
Her steadfast fast-unto death, undertaken for more than ten years, to
repeal the Armed Forces (Special) Powers Act from the soil of Manipur
has received international attention. They say there is no room for
killing and violence in a truly democratic country. Indeed, they say,
there is no room for suppression and oppression in a truly liberated
country. However, the Indian State refuses to repeal the same Act in
the name of "law" and "order". Instead, she's been declared as a
proclaimed offender and a criminal numero uno, forced-fed and
imprisoned in a high security prison.

Human rights continue to be violated. Lives continue to be taken away.
And mournful wails of widows and orphans reverberate in the valley and
hills of Manipur.

She's the one and only person who defies the might of the Indian state.

She is truly the embodiment of the triumph of the human spirit and the

Imphal Music Project: NONGLEI feat. Rewben Mashangva, Rahul Ram, Sunil, Hem, Imphal Talki

Imphal Talkies was formed in 2008 by Akhu Chingangbam with Sachin Angom and Riki Chingangbam. The band released its debut album Tiddim Road in 2009. The band releases its music under its own record label Oomorock Records. Raju Athokpam, a software engineer, joined the band in 2009 March. The band dedicated a song “Eche” in 2010 to Irom Sharmila, a lady who has been on hunger strike since Novemeber 2000 as an act protest demanding the repeal of the draconian act, Armed Forces Special Powers Act, 1958. The Imphal Music Project was concieved by Akhu to create a platform among artists from Indian sub continent. And the project has released two songs. The band is currently working on the second album "When the Home is Burning", plan to release in October 2012
