In the 1990s, Potts Point and Kings Cross were all about the big night out. When Sydney celebrated, this is where it happened. If the big night happened elsewhere, it was where you inevitably ended up in the wee hours of the morning. Most had disappeared by the 2010s when Sydney’s strict lockout laws made Kings Cross a less attractive destination for revellers. Many have since been redeveloped into residential apartments.

This "Memories Session" is the last mix in the trilogy set dedicated to EP1 Sundays, the best Sunday night in NSW.

Some of you may remember One World Sport at the 1800 square metre building located in the Darling Walk Complex at the southern end of Darling Harbour in Sydney. One World Sport was Sydney’s original sports themed venue hosting a variety of functions and events. It was divided into several area with an outdoor terrace, bar, gaming lounge, pool tables, restaurants, and a VIP room. It offered a state-of-the-art audio-visual system including 60 screens televising sports from around the world. 

I’ll always remember One World as being the place we would go without being worried about the door policy. This led to so many great nights and so many new friends in the late 90s and early 2000s.

The 'Memories' sessions finally lands at Sydney’s premier nightclub! Yes, there was a time when people queued, in long snaking lines, to get into DCM. The huge DCM site, located at the lower end of Oxford Street, was renowned for its superior sound system, professional lighting and acres of space for uninhibited dancing.

This mix is for the people who love ‘DCM’, who keep the memories alive. Its thanks to you all that this mix came together. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed mixing it 😊

Here it is, the 11.00 - 12.00 PM session from my daughters 16th Birthday in July. The brief, play the Alex K remixes of 6 Days on the Run, Electricity and Miracle and then whatever I liked. And that is exactly what I did, this is me cutting it old school for a new generation of kids. This completes the set (3 months later).

Before I begin, I just want to put a disclaimer out there that this 'NRG Session' is not mixed by me but mixed by DJ Paul Astro.

Not only is Paul a great guy, but he was renowned for being one of Sydney’s premier DJs in the 90s and early 2000s. This mix, from around 2000 typifies why people want to see him back, doing what he does best! I've stumbled across it and it is too good not to share. Listen to the maestro go to work. Enjoy!
