Imprint is the inaugural release from Imprint, a label dedicated to deep and thoughtful underground sounds. This track, crafted at 123 BPM and in D Phrygian, reflects our commitment to quality and originality. With its deep grooves, call-and-response leads, and uplifting drops, Imprint offers a glimpse into the labels core sound. The track features a Techno-inspired piano run and a minimalistic, deep-tech main drop, all enveloped in a warm, underground character. With a progressive and uplifting flair, the melodic structure gracefully navigates from Tech house to dub techno. A grinding synth lead on the main drop adds a distinctive touch, tying the track together. Imprint is a sincere reflection of our vision, crafted with thoughtful attention to detail. We hope it offers a rewarding experience for those who value depth and authenticity in their music.

A hypnotic blend of deep atmospheres, evolving textures, and pulsing rhythms, Girl on a Train by SHMIKESSS, Steph Vass, and Mark Valsecchi capture the fleeting magic of chance encounters. Inspired by the quiet moments of connection that unfold during transit, the track mirrors the introspective haze of watching the world pass by - a moment suspended between destinations.

Conceived by SHMIKESSS and Steph Vass in a rented Berlin studio, Girl on a Train layers field recordings, shimmering synths, and progressive grooves, building into a dynamic, emotive journey. The track was refined over nearly 2 years and as the track evolved, Mark Valsecchi, label head at Imprint, heard a demo and felt he could add a new dimension. His subtle yet impactful refinements elevated the mix, enhancing its depth and sonic clarity while staying true to its atmospheric essence.

Girl on a Train also features a Wulfsohn remix, a minimal yet energetic rework that strips the track down to its core elements while injecting a driving pulse. Rounding out the EP, Steph Vass presents Every Grain Counts, a spell-casting, acid-tinged desert track driven by hypnotic percussion and a haunting vocal. Its dusty, trance-inducing groove transports listeners to an arid dreamscape, blending raw organic energy with deep electronic textures.

The inspiration behind this track came from that feeling of closing your eyes and reliving that pure joy when the bass hits you right in the chest after a massive buildup. To correctly capture this moment, an old-school camera sound is included, 'capturing' that bass drop moment in your mind, like a camera would capture the perfect photo. Well, that was the idea ;) The combination of a deep, driving low end with light, dreamlike melodies creates an energetically inclusive atmosphere.
