A remix I did for Mr Paul Simon.  Tim Skogen brings the beef, Andy Brown adds the sizzle, and I cooked it all til' it's tender in the middle.

Ham and Cake was born in the sunshine of Cabo, Mexico over lunch. A lunch of Ham and Cake. Multiple lunches of Ham and Cake. The team is Greg Schelander and Andy Brown of Minneapolis, MN...just down the road from Prince's famous Paisley Park. 

Greg is a chart-topping Producer with success in electronic productions, remixes, and original compositions with various artists and labels across genres throughout the 90's and early 00's. With daughter and homestead butting up against the realities of a shifting music business environment, he put his earphones on a shelf for a bunch of years, but kept the studio set up and functioning. And then his Ham met Andy's Cake, and they started to pickle a few musical cucumbers and found a new and exciting path for some creative and original fun.

Andy grew up near Toronto in the part of Canada that hangs down south of millions of Americans...Canada's phallic symbol equivalent of Florida. He spent (mispent?) his youth playing guitar of various styles backing rock, celtic, folk and blues bands through the late 80s and 90s. Like Greg, he found career and home took much of his time, and for a number of years the music was kept penned up in a small guitar room in his house. 

At a point in life where time, inclination, and mutual musical interests aligned with friendship and peculiar trips in an RV, Ham and Cake came to be in 2011. Early independent productions for others' music, including Paul Simon, as well as originals that are constantly poking at the boundaries of alternate and indie styles, Ham & Cake Productions is blazing new trails in the pursuit of simply making good music.
