We love when music tells a story. We love it more when music completes a story. Two anguished hearts caught in the woes of love attempt to translate their hurt in their art. Their creativity transports them to a plane where they connect again. A plane forged by music, dance and a common intensity of emotion. An original rearrangement of Mehdi Hassan and Ahmad Faraz’s ghazal “Ranjish Hi Sahi” frames and feeds the story.

Kesariya Balam is a folk song from Desert area of India, Rajasthan. It is one of the most popular Rajasthani folk music narrations. This is a welcome song in Rajasthani tradition, mostly sung on the occasion of welcome ceremony of loved ones or the guest. But Imran & Lorenzo recreate the melody to give it a feeling of longing, where a person longing for his/her beloved and asking him/her to come back to the land they belongs to be together. We releasing this song on this day of Valentines Day and asking all the lovers to be together forever.

Imran & Lorenzo born from a meeting in India and the desire to produce music, mixing elements from Indian music and western, composing music only with two instruments in order to explore every possible interaction between sitar and finger style acoustic guitar style.

The soundscape created through the music of Imran & Lorenzo has only 2 instruments, the sitar and acoustic guitar. It creates its own internal rhythm and has no percussion element. The music is an eclectic fusion of Spanish, Arabic, Oriental and Indian sounds blending the experience and expression of both the musicians

Imran & Lorenzo’s music uses no computer generated sound, and no other instrument or sound aside from Sitar and the Acoustic Guitar. 

Imran & Lorenzo believe in the importance of live recording with no editing or computer modified music but to keep the music as acoustic and as natural as possible.
