Sunset Mix (no.1) - Deep/Melodic House

Maud Geffray and Sébastien Chenut, aka Scratch Massive, dropped their latest album Nox Anima back in February. It was composed and recorded in Los Angeles and marked a new chapter with poetic flair, cinematic atmospheres and a dreamy, melancholic mix of synth, techno and cold wave sounds. It comes more than 20 years after the pair started out, off the back of a steady stream of superb singles and albums that have amassed millions of streams, led to syncs with brands and TV shows like Yves Saint Laurent, L'Oréal and Emily in Paris, and headline shows all over the world.

The absorbing Hunger is a widescreen sound with ethereal vocals that float above slow, purposeful electro rhythms. Wispy synths and subtle acid lines weave in and out, bringing a cosmic flair as the energy builds. The whole track builds to an escapist peak that overflows with emotion and introspection.

Belaria has risen through the ranks of her native French scene, with sets at Rex Club and La Machine, top tunes on labels like Friendsome, and a stylish blend of Italo, EBM, techno and new wave. Her fantastic rework is an Italo space disco gem, where synthwave magic and dance-floor grooves intertwine to take your mind and body up into the stars.

Amarcord is an Italian musician, DJ and live performer who blends new wave, disco, techno and ambient on labels like Cardini’s Correspondant, Watergate, Ombra International and Aeon. His remix of another album track, On The Edge, is a glistening electro workout with uplifting synth arms and heavenly pop vocals that are doused in shimmering, uplifting chords.

Scratch Massive's Hunger comes on bORDEL Records on June 5th 2025 with the Amarcord remix of On the Edge arriving on June 26th.

A highlight of their recent debut EP for Eskimo Recordings, Kate Stein & Lord Fascinator's Asteroid saw the psychotropic duo take us on a joyful joyride through the cosmos, its melodic synth-pop and trance inducing disco finding a hitherto unguessed at sweet spot somewhere between Spiritualized and Lipps Inc. Too much fun to keep to themselves our LA based duo have invited the likes of Aeroplane, Eli Escobar and BĘÃTFÓØT to join them on the trip and add their own touch to the track before it burns up on re-entry.First up is high flying Belgian producer and DJ Aeroplane, who returns to Eskimo 15 years after the label released his acclaimed debut LP. Responsible for some of the most iconic remixes around, you know you're in for a good time with Vito at the controls and he once again delivers a masterclass in pairing indie vocals and pop melodies with chrome plated disco beats and sky high synths. The result, a joyous celebration of love, chemicals and chemical induced love, sure to echo out over festival fields this summer.It's always a good sign when you see Eli Escobar's name on a track's credits and the NY producer has been delivering killer remixes for the likes of Lana Del Rey, M.I.A. and Honey Dijon for well over two decades now. Stripping Asteroid back to just the vocals and slowly but surely building it back up from there, Escobar delivers a killer synth-heavy house track for when you want to reset the vibe in the club and take things to the next level. It's set to a slow burning fuse but when it all kicks in this Asteroid explodes like a firework.Finally, taking time out from drumming duties with Red Axes Udi Naor slips into his BĘÃTFÓØT alias to deliver a frenetic, peak time remix of Asteroid. Throwing everything from pummelling martial drums, rave stabs, urgent synths and pitched up vocals into the mix, Naor's remix burns through the sky like a particularly wildly piloted UFO, a sci-fi synth stunner with all strobes set to stun.

‘Fire and Stardom’ — the new two-track EP from Antic - Release date July 17th 

‘Fire and Stardom’ EP is a vivid return to the dancefloor displaying an array of energy and colour, from techno to disco, from brooding to hope-filled, from dark-room to sun-drenched.

The first track ‘Fire’ twists and turns between tension and release. Blending techno elements together with moments of synth pop. All-driven by a hypnotic, direct and power-laden groove.

The second track ´Stardom´is a burst of dry-humour and . With a wonderfully playful vocal by Zena Kitt, it plays with ideas of vanity and vulnerability. It weaves together soul and disco chords into frenzied loops that burst, fizz and then fall. All pushed along by a driving house beat. 

These two tracks are just the start of an exciting new journey for Antic — one packed with colour, optimism, and the unmistakable mark of musical maturity.

PREMIERE - Scoobz - Twitchin (Yelly)

We’re big fans here at Sprechen of Frederik Hendrik and have been hammering his release on HeSheThey and Pomme Fritte in many sets over the years which is what drive us to drop him a fax and see if he’d be up for gracing us with his presence on Sprechen. After nearly 3 years (in which time he hands built himself a garden studio!) we are please to welcome him to the fold with 2 absolute killer cuts on Andere Landen.

Het Spiraal is a turbo charged, head down stomper which packs bags of funk and dance floor groove into its 6 & half min run time. Deranged synths stab in & out with phased out melodies and enough space disco soundscapes to make Prins Thomas quake in his Norwegian slippers!

Title track Andere Landen is a touch of a deeper affair but still packing the jackin’ along with some wobbly synth sounds & Italo style vibes and an absolute slamming drop with a twisted vocal wrapping itself into your psyche. Not quite a peak time but a tune you’d drop peak time (if that makes sense!?)…another subtle banger that will hook ‘em in. HUGE.
