This is a work that is currently in the pipeline; I am preparing to submit this for my end of year project at uni. This work will evenually include elements of synthis, It has a layed back flamenco beat. the mood of the peice reminds me of a warm summer day, however unlike my other peices this is not a programatic peice ie it is not about anything in particular. 

Electro Flamenco

This is the second work in a tone poem I've written depicting the port city of Heracleion. The aim for this composition is to represent a scene from an imagined space within the temple of Osiris, in historical Heracleion, situated on the Nile delta of Ancient Egypt, now situated beneath the waves of the Mediterranean sea. I imagined a procession within the temple of Osiris, were priestesses gather before making offerings to the God of the Spring
and rebirth.

Heracleion No. 2 - In the Temple of Osiris

Oh Heracleion, mother Nile deserts you,
The artery has silted up.
Your life blood ceases to flow
and power resides in another place
Even the flood refuses to push through.

Oh inconsistent flow, you wander
wander like the planets
and now you've strayed too far,
Too far and will not bathe me now.
Oh for waters cleansing balm,

This once mighty city has lost it's soul,
I must leave you in search of another home
For Even the temple stones retreat into the earth
Retreat I know not why.

And on a midnight far away,
I shall remember you,
And on a shaw of a distant land
I will sing of your greatness lost.

And in the minds of strangers
sparks imagination's flash, you live again
your towers glisten, radiant in the sun,
The sails unfurl against the morning breeze
and once more flows the Nile.
And the Nile flows once more.

Symphonic Piece - Spring Emergence

This track is inspired by the Kora players of Piccadilly Gardens Manchester UK. They play all summer long, and their beautiful playing echoes through the concrete and noise of the bustling city around them. Complex polyrhythms abound, and tonally of the past but ever in the present moment.

The Mania Of The Elves Of St Nicholas

This is my attempt at an Irish Style Gigue, its inspired by a local pub in Salford where I have spent many an idle while with friends, having fun and putting the world to rights... hope you enjoy.

The Old Pint Pot Gigue

This track was composed for Project Trinity, an event in support of homeless charities in and around Manchester. This piece is a departure from my normal domain of composition. I think it highlights the problems of social inertia represented by a feeling of stasis and claustrophobia and complacency within modern Britain today, this is juxtaposed against the urgency of the problem of homelessness represented by the tick-tock beat against the need for action and compassion within human societies.

A Darkness You Can Feel

As part of the event known as Project Trinity, in aid of Homeless charity The Booth Centre, The seemingly ceaseless candy pot, has a companion poem that I wrote under the brief of "Trick or Treat" This was read wonderfully by performance poet Rosa Boat, in Salford's Sacred Trinity Church on 2nd November 2018.

Triptych - It Can Be So Beautiful

I've been a student of music for over 20 years now, I've never stopped loving the infinite diversity and wonder of music and its great power over me. 

I was formally trained as a classical singer focusing on Italian arias and German Lieder Songs. My passion is for composition, and I am hopeful for my future projects, as I approach my final year of undergraduate studies in Music, Please Subscribe and watch this space.
