They also help decompose organic matter, recycling nutrients back into the soil and maintaining healthy ecosystems. As a vital part of the food chain, insects provide sustenance for birds, amphibians, and other wildlife. However, habitat destruction and climate change are threatening insect populations, which could have severe consequences for global biodiversity.
