Sometimes I look up to the sky and wish I was there instead of down here, trapped by gravity. Sometimes I try to imagine actually being a bird up there, flying, free.
This piece starts very quietly and the themes move backwards and forwards, left and right, simple and complicated – varying and following how I think I would feel if I was up there, just below the clouds. Defying gravity for a while.


Letting Go

This is the narrative track with musical soundscape in the background - the story is based on the myth of the traditional Folk Song called Scarborough Fair and chimes with the BBC's 3-part TV ghost story 'Remember Me' starring Michael Palin - although my story is slightly different!
After listening to this track you should, I think, find that 'Riaf Bracs Music' is even more meaningful.

Riaf Bracs Music

I've tried, with this short piece, to show how it may feel just before and just after a target is hit. These things I'm sure happen in the heat of the moment with the adrenaline pumping, and 100% commitment, but I wonder if, just before the point of no return, there's a second of doubt and regret. For some it's too late, for others it may haunt them for the rest of their lives.

Target

Sometimes the sea around Western Isles of Scotland is calm, glinting in the sun. But it can be very misleading if you're in a boat out there - it is still very powerful, deep, and unpredictable. Here I try to capture one such day I had in a boat when the sea was like a brooding undulating mirror and occasionally the swell created a lazy wave that splintered on the half-submerged rocks - a hint of the power beneath the surface, and what it could do if the wind changed.

Staffa

No Worries - it's great up here way up above the city - the cocktails are superb, the food's fantastic, and the music is so cool - well worth the ridiculously high price they charge for a table.

No Worries

All sounds are music to me.  I make music that uses all kinds of sounds to create a vision, image, and emotion, that grows and evolves and takes you somewhere. I've only just started doing this - I'm working on more tracks but it takes a while - I'll  post them soon.
