A stirring, off-kilter and moody blend of immersive ambience, sizzling glitch tones, icy brittle emotive synth melodies, and wandering crispy broken percussive patterns, that will keep the listener entranced until the very end.

Glasgow-based imprint Bricolage welcomes the enigmatic producer,  The New Human, to the label with his stunning album, "Proximity Mantra".

The New Human isn't afraid to wear his influences on his sleeve. Proudly incorporating the late 90's/early 2000's IDM methodology into his own techniques to create a curious blend of Ambient, Glitch and Twisted yet mellow Electronica.
The eight tracks on show here provide us with a myriad of ever-evolving and crunchy percussion. Beats that stretch, warp and turn. Each pattern waiting to uncoil and mangle into the next. Then there are the dark and deep basslines that provide the ideal backdrop for these shuffling and effervescent soundscapes. But it's not all bass and complex beats. There's a whole host of technicolour and expressive melodies in the quieter moments that allow 'The New Human' to showcase his knack for exploratory synth work. Glacial harmonics intertwine with classic IDM bleeps that succeed in carrying the tracks into evocative territory.

The album is rounded out with two remixes: Inverness-based producer, Beira, provides her own spiky and chaotic take on "Phoenix" before label boss, Fragile X, dissolves "Thought Patterns" into an ambient electronica journey to close out the release.

Patterned Media is back with the first installment of a 2 part remix compilation.  
b0t23 + inoperative system - Reticle Remixes Pt. 1
The original collaboration was between producer inoperative system (Diego Ruiz) from Málaga, Spain and b0t23 from Portland, Oregon (Beau Crouch). Now these sounds have been transmitted many more miles and morphed into new creations.  
When we sent out a request for some of our favorite artists to remix tracks from b0t23 + inoperative system - Reticle EP, we did not know what to expect.  What we got were some great submissions and we are happy to finally share them.  
For this 4 track release, we start with Senmove, another producer from inoperative system’s home of Spain, who shares a composition that is reminiscent of glitchy chopped up trip hop bedroom research, merck/schematic. Then we have one of our favorite artists, Roel Funcken, with an amazingly expansive remix of “Simplo” that features great basslines, a halftime feel, and shifting beats.   Adrien D’Elzius brings us a polished up remix of the track Target, locking into a dark groove with acid lines, deep bass, and tight percussion.   Hexalyne brings a distorted electro glitch track that progresses through various rhythms all vying for attention, coming together with ambient washes and introspective textures.
