A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of contemplating a beautiful starry sky. In that moment, as we felt so small before the immensity of the universe, someone mentioned the film Contact (1997), starring Jodie Foster, and recalled a line that perfectly fit what we were experiencing: “If it’s just us… what a waste of space.”
