2 years ago in the middle of COVID lockdowns I wrote a song around a sample from a Tiktok video of Enny Mae singing the intro to XXXtentacion - Jocelyn Flores (which is actually a sample of Potsu - I'm Closing My Eyes).  I always liked how the song turned out, but never really knew what to do with it so here it is!

I didn't sample anything other than her Tiktok video in this song, all instruments and production otherwise was done by me.

Hold On (Enny Mae Jocelyn Flores Cover)

I have a bunch of tracks that I made specifically to play live and figured I should just start posting them instead of gathering dust on my hard drive.  These tracks have lots of percussion to beatmatch with and were made for double drops with other songs layered ontop.  They may sound a bit empty on their own, but that's kinda the point...  If you've heard any of my 140 mixes in the past couple years, these will probably sound familiar!

Rinsed

After a VERY long time and several full re-recordings later, I'm proud to show my cover of Between the Buried and Me's song "Breathe in, Breathe Out".  

I originally started this back in 2016 as a bootleg I never finished when I was at school on an old laptop with Logic 9.  The original song is the song after my favourite song of all time on their album "Alaska", and it's just a short instrumental guitar piece that was easy to sample.  The bootleg I'd done was just made by looping a few sections and messing with the audio after that, but when I revisited it in 2023, I thought it would be cool to re-record all the guitar parts myself and just call it a cover.  At this point, there are no parts of the original song at all, every guitar part was recorded myself and everything you hear was arranged and produced/mixed/mastered by me.

Without going into detail, the past few months have been a rollercoaster for me on a personal level and learning to play this song has turned into a really therapeutic process.  It was the first time in years that I'd looked up tabs for a song and sat down to practice with a metronome on a daily basis.  As I learned it, I found bits and pieces I would play differently than the tabs and after a while I kind of turned it into my own version - so technically it's not a perfect cover.  The process of starting at slower tempos and learning the nuances of the song gave me a whole new appreciation of the songwriting and Paul Waggoner's guitar playing in BTBAM.  I've seen them play live a bunch of times, but I've never seen them play this before because it's not one of their more popular songs.  It always stuck out to me as something unique in their back catalog though, so I'm happy to be able to give it new life.

I made this for myself first and foremost, but hopefully I did it justice and it resonates with some people.

Between the Buried and Me - Breathe In, Breathe Out (Incandescent Cover)

This fall season has been a time of significant change for me and I was working on a mix for @livingstonesound that unintentionally captured where my head was at.  I finished 6 new songs for this mix and looking back at it now, they've taken on a whole new meaning since I made them.  This mix captures a moment in time for me that was very dark and uncertain, so I’ve decided to post the mix on its own as a standalone record of this chapter.  Even though this time is not a positive memory for me on a personal level, I feel it's some of my best work and I'm really proud of how it turned out.

This is the recording of my set from Bloom festival 2024, where I played the Saturday sunrise from 5-6:30am.  This set was a really unique experience for me and I used it as an opportunity to dive into the more spaced-out and melodic side of my music. Last time Bandcamp waived their fees a month ago, I bought the Circuits - Nervous System EP on @critical-music which came with the stems for the track Wingwalker.  I loved the original and wanted to take a crack at remixing it myself!
