Whilst the war in Ukraine continues to unfold we couldn't just sit by and do nothing. With Nowadays we have a platform to help make a difference and take action, so we asked friends, family and label members to contribute to a compilation, of which all profits will be donated to The Voices of Children Foundation in Ukraine.

The Voices of Children Foundation has been helping children affected by war since 2015. They provide psychological and psychosocial support to children. It helps them overcome the consequences of armed conflict and aids in further development.

We'd like to thank Arno Lemons, Session 4000, Hantrax, Weird Dust, Nathan Boost, Footloose, FBQ, Aymeric and Juicy “The Dj” for all donating an exclusive, original track to this compilation. FINAL DJS is finally here! After making a ‘Wild’ accomplishment with 2.7 million streams, the DJ is back to make ‘Everyone’ ‘Feel The Heat’. For his latest release, he brings us ‘Something Special’ with an upbeat house tune. 

The single is called ‘Playing Games’ and the intro hooks you right away! At the core of it is a clever use of synth pads, which relies heavily on funky claps. Percussions can be heard and
the organs create a retro ambience, like roller skating in the 80s. It’s simple yet groovy, and the influence of nu-disco makes it a perfect vaporwave vibe!

FINAL DJS - Playing Games

RNT welcomes Brooklyn-based band 79.5 to the family with the first single from their forthcoming eponymous LP. Soulful and psychedelic, the haunting melodies of Club Level float above a steady strutting rhythm section, punctuated by moaning baritone saxophone and drenched in washy reverb.

NYC mainstay Eli Escobar crafts a masterful remix that leans into 80s nostalgia, with a soundscape and arrangement nothing short of perfection.

PREMIERE: BufoBufo - Sargassum

He's back. After a break that felt like an eternity, Cuthead has finally awoken from his creative beauty sleep to check up on his home base, Uncanny Valley, with his new album, THE DETOUR. 

The album is spread over four parts to avoid overexciting everyone's attention span. And he's not coming back as a cheapskate since the album is full of gifts that true Cuthead fans desire. In other words, he does what he does best: Blasting out slick tracks that oscillate between laid-back underground hip-hop, sampling heavy house and vintage acid, but with enough surprises along the way. The tracks were created over the last few years, including some jams from his live set that he made while travelling or in a hotel.

As soon as the typical cosy, warm chords kick in during the INTRO of The Detour Part 1, you immediately feel at home again in Cuthead's world, where it's always Saturday afternoon, and laid-back jams drip out of the speakers (at least on two of the four parts). On top of that, Chester Watson from St. Louis (one of Cuthead's absolute favourite rappers) provided a feature. With his distinctive voice and dreamy flow, Chester explains in not one but two versions of PROCEED how to carry on and stay relaxed despite adverse circumstances. On the other hand, TOUR DE FRANCE is a trapstrumental for the masses in which a hi-that thunderstorm is intertwined with a wind sample that constantly twists around itself.

The second in Cuthead's tetralogy is what we can undoubtedly call a house monster. It starts with a track named after one of Cuthead's special skills: MPC JAM. With its filter attacks and unmistakable drops, the track builds on Cuthead's great house floor fillers, leaving no ass standing still. SUNDAY 5 PM enters the floor as a bird of paradise with room-filling disco strings before SPACED OUT follows with Theo Parrish-like grooves. MIDNIGHT ROUTE closes The Detour Part 2 with broken beats and an unusual but irresistible electronic bassline.

The opener of the third part once again praises the old promise of the House Nation, not without ZUBU being refined with the very own Cuthead spin, which puts the track on a techno floor as well. POWER ACID lives up to its name and comes across as a classic warehouse acid screw that takes every rave to the edge. Understatement is also not required. PARTY LIKE IT'S 99. After all, every Saturday afternoon is followed by a Saturday night a piano house bomb with a little ounce of acid always goes down well on such an occasion

The final chapter of THE DETOUR opens promisingly and in typical Cuthead style with the aptly titled BONKERS and the kind of weirder head-nodding beat that only the Dresdenresident can squeeze out of his samples. In LISOLEIL, Malone the Chemist drops his lines over what feels like an aquatic jazz foundation. Cuthead spotted the Canadian rapper when he posted a freestyle under a tweet from Flying Lotus. After that, the snares are turned up again at the FOXY FOXY sample fest. OUTRO is almost epic by Cuthead standards and could easily be the soundtrack to a modern Giallo film. The album is accompanied by beautiful animations created in collaboration between illustrator Robert Deutsch and animator Tobias Kramer.

@piff-records continues to unravel its catalogue by calling on an artist slightly closer to home. Cardiff-based @harrisonbdp adds to his already prolific discography with an EP that spans from mellow dub techno vibrations, all the way up to wide-open, rave-driven acid riffs. 

Harrison’s A-side revels in a deep pool of soft bubbling synth chords, moulded to the backdrop of tight rolling drum work and occasionally teasing the wider, heavier energies to be found on the flip.

The B side ripples with ricocheting, delay-laden soundscapes, rock-solid drums lines, and nostalgic lead synth lines that make you glad that you’ve caught on to this talented producer early on in his promising career.

Budapest producer Route 8’s long-awaiting debut full release almost didn’t happen. The original album was lost when the producer – and the Lobster Theremin crew – had all their belongings stolen in Detroit, whilst on their first tour of the United States a few years ago. The Motor City has had a significant influence on the labels output; piecing together new and exciting sounds that float over the sonic history of America's great manufacturing cities - Detroit and Chicago.

Annoyed, but determined not to let an album concept so close to heart go to waste, Route 8 began re-piecing the record back together. Rewind The Days Of Youth (releasing on Lobster Theremin) is inspired by Szilveszter Horváth’s artist alias, which borrows its name from the highway in Hungary that the producer regularly cruises down to visit his grandmother.

The aesthetic is just that: cruising music. Themed around a journey from the ambient launch of ‘Departure’ to the down-tempo buoyance of ‘Arrival, the entire record gives off big ‘cruising down the highway’ energy as we float between glitched-out IDM, bass-heavy minimal house rhythms and emotionally uplifting synth work that incites a real sense of nostalgia and images of a distant sunset turning everything it touches to deep orange.
