Given that Yoshitoshi’s roots are ingrained in house music, it’s only fitting to start the #YoshiClassics campaign with Eddie Amador’s “House Music”. A true Yoshitoshi classic released in 1998 that went on to become a global phenomena. It’s easy to fall for a nostalgic approach to dance music, to cuddle oneself in the warm analogue sounds of late 1980’s dance productions – especially with the heavy ongoing reissue trend going on. However, we have to stay focus: look out for contemporary sounds and means of production. Parisian producer Nathan Melja makes his debut on Antinote with an idiosyncratic three-tracker and our guess is that it sounds contemporary.

On the A-side: one tune: Deadrums. Both the name and the music speak for themselves. It’s hard, it’s efficient and at the same time, there’s quite a lot going on, tiny bumps on the straightforward road to techno ecstasy. Nevertheless, Deadrums is a precise piece of machinery, an atmospheric banger, yes, but with deadly jaws made out of tempered steel to tear a dancefloor apart, piece-by-piece.

Casper Hastings is a well known and respected name within the Irish electronic music scene and further afield having played the length and breadth of Europe over the last number of years. He has already been part of 3 STG releases already by excellently remixing Sancta Sanctorum on STG004 and providing two incredible and yet very different tracks on the Sticky Leaks VAs vol.2 and 3.

His tracks are relentless in their execution, with unforgiving bass lines coupled with harsh riffs plus from time to time (if thats not enough) he lets his other influences take over creating amazing breakbeat electro atmospheres proving how open minded his productions are.

And thats just what you’ll get on this one. Two straight, hard hitters in full CH signature. One nasty and groovy electro break. Plus those two remixes. Sancta sanctorum going even harder and, well, No Moon going No moon.

To celebrate its 2nd anniversary, Ola Radio is launching a series of three compilations, bringing together 43 artists with plural aesthetics, like Ola Radio’s musical selection.

« Ola Compile vol.1 - Bande passante » is the first in this three-part series. Its release is scheduled for January 14, 2021 (Ola Radio's anniversary).
The release inaugurates the meeting between several universes in a free creative space where downtempo, dub, techno, leftfield and ambient intersect to form a coherent and nuanced whole. This is the result of 14 artists of multiple influences, from Bordeaux and elsewhere, all driven by the same love and passion for music.

SIMPLE EXPOSITION are Insulaire and Blumm, two members of the long-standing Bordeaux-based French crew tplt, join forces on a new adventure, mixing their various influences to forge a new sound, hopefully crafted for the future. Away from the decks like all of us, they forcefully returned to the coziness of home studio and spent the never-to-be-talked-about-again-year brewing with care the material upon which they could one day return behind the controls of a sound system.
