PREMIERE: Adhémar - Oscuro [Initiate]

Brussels' Initiate Records releases their 'Winter Nights' compilation next month, bringing forward producers whose music they cherish. 

As a way to connect all the pieces together, they asked the artists to follow the theme of “long winter nights” and to translate that emotion into music. What results is a varied compilation going from lightness to darkness.

In 'Su - Ri - Pu' the Austrian DnB producer Nusku pulled together a half tempo, dub-heavy track with deep tribal influences.

In time for the holiday season is a gift from the Belgium based imprint, Initiate Records and their ‘Winter Nights’ compilation. The release clocks in at an impressive 28 tracks centered around a common idea as the label states, ‘we asked the artists to follow the theme of “long winter nights” and to translate that emotion into music. What results is a varied compilation going from lightness to darkness.’

Our premiere for today was born from the mind of Box 5ive. With prior releases on Well Street, Comic Sans, and Twin Systems, the London artist is steadily growing a solid repertoire. Starting off with disembodied voices and warm bass lines, Duty Free evokes whispery scenes of wind swept roads, those moments of travel late at night, where none are around. The ever present serenity, and introspection as sounds are muted by snow, the only companion, the thoughts within one's mind.

Duty Free, and the rest of the Winter Nights compilation will be released on the 23rd, of December.

In the wake of the devastating floods that devastated Valencia, Spain, a group of artists have come together for a cause that transcends borders and genres. This compilation album brings together exclusive tracks from visionary artists, channeling their creative prowess into a heartfelt mission: to help animal shelters working tirelessly to rescue and care for vulnerable lives affected by floods.

This disaster, a direct result of climate change, urges us to reflect and act. Rising temperatures intensify torrential rains, raise sea levels and exacerbate natural disasters, causing loss of lives, homes and biodiversity. This project calls us to protect our planet before it is too late.

The Nature Microdosing EP by Ariet @michalgutkowski explores the intersection of nature, psychedelics, and dance gatherings, uncovering their healing potential. These tracks were crafted and refined during the festival season, a time of personal therapy, healing, and shared experiences on the dancefloor.

The title track, Nature Microdosing, invites the listener into a mystical atmosphere, a continuous flow of events that evolve through modulations and thematic variations. This piece sets the tone for the journey, blending subtlety with an entrancing energy.

The ALPI remix accelerates the pace, transforming Nature Microdosing into a peak-time track. With punchy drums, ALPI’s signature sound design, and a dancefloor-oriented arrangement, it channels raw energy and movement.

Acid Healing ventures deeper, guiding the dancer through dark and complex territories of the psyche. It’s a necessary descent—an opportunity to confront inner truths, embrace lessons, and emerge stronger.

Tribal Message offers a moment of respite. Its rhythmic drums and atmospheric layers encourage introspection, inviting listeners to explore their inner depths.

Belgian duo Sparkling Bits presents “Piratage”, an eerie yet oddly calm tune ripe with synth, strings, and percussion. This song takes us back to the 1700’s, setting the scene on a pirate ship that is floating stealthily on the sea. Calm arpeggios, flutes, and shuffled percussion give the song life and ambience. Yet somewhere in this sonic soup lies the knowledge that one is being taken on a journey to the darker parts of life.
