Hey guys I'm Ramalho and this is the seventy-eighth edition of the Vørtice Pødcast.

From student to teacher, from heart to soul, this is how I introduce one of the most emblematic figures of the Brazilian techno scene and when you look at the top of the scene you see several artists of international reach who were disciples of this master.   

Today I'm proud to introduce my great friend and one of the guys who make techno happen in Brazil, Andre Salata, or Salata as everyone knows him. 

The guy has made available nothing less than a 3-hour DJ set recorded at D-Edge on the memorable night he played after the great Rødhåd.

From student to teacher, from heart to soul. That is the summary of the path that Andre Salata, the DJ, producer and college lecturer from São Paulo, has been taking.

Die-hard fan of techno and its origins, of its simple complexity in constant evolution, he entered the world of musical production through his own connection to the art’s style. He grew in the area and ended up becoming a lecturer of electronic music production in a respected College in São Paulo.

Away from the classroom, Andre has produced an extensive discography. In constant exchange with producers, enthusiasts and students, his influences are constantly renewed and materialized in DJ sets which fill the heart and soul encompassed by the electronic music world. Andre has been gaining prominence launching releases by internationally renowned labels such as Get Physical, Noir and Transmit, as well as bringing his DJ mixes to important clubs in Brazil and around the world such as Watergate Club, Sisyphos, among others.

ALLPA PURUMA, He was born on April 6, 1995 in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. He is a musician, producer and composer. His first approach to electronic music was at the age of 11, discovering artists such as Chemical Brother, Oliver Huntemann, Cirez D among others. Over time, he expanded his musical spectrum, being influenced by bands such as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Black Sabbath, and Pink Floyd. Finding inspiration in psychedelic music and motivated by his friends, he acquired his first musical instrument, which would allow him to begin a stage of sound experimentation that he still carries out. Without prejudices and with the constant need to connect with music, he embarks on a journey, where he consolidates his beats playing percussion and other instruments such as djembe, didgeridoo, zicus, charango. Upon his return to Argentina, he once again became involved with electronic music, focusing his attention on Techno, a genre that encouraged him to take music production classes and without leaving aside his native instruments, incorporating drum machines and synthesizers.

Su música se ha revelado en sellos como Trau-ma, Dreizehn Schallplatten, Despair Scape Records y Dissolved Mind Records. En febrero de 2024, hizo su debut en el Freedom Festival de la ciudad de Medellín, uno de los eventos más importantes de Latinoamérica, donde presentó un set enérgico y lleno de exploración sonora. En su visión artistica MÖTA busca integrar también la expresiones visuales, colaborando con artistas de este campo para crear experiencias que fusionan lo sonoro y lo estético en la pista de baile.
