Born from the dust and heartbeat of South America, Inner Ground carries the pulse of earth under bare feet, the smoke of fires that told stories before words did. Now, thousands of miles away in Europe, the air feels different, the light cuts in sharper angles – but the rhythm of those first landscapes still runs through the veins.
It’s a piece about dual belonging: one foot on the cobblestones of a European city, the other buried deep in the soil of a distant village. Born in Paramaribo, Surinam in 1989, INCIVE was destined for a life steeped in music, growing up in a musically inclined family. From a young age, he honed his skills on the guitar, playing in bands and eventually stepping into the role of producer. His passion for music expanded to electronic production, leading to his first DJ gig at a small venue in the Netherlands. Specializing in Bass, Electro, and Techno, INCIVE quickly gained recognition, with his tracks picked up by prominent labels such as Brooklyn Fire and Armada Music, earning support from some of the biggest names in the DJ world.

His DJ career flourished across the Netherlands, with performances at iconic venues like 013, Paradiso, and Panama in Amsterdam. Embracing collaboration, INCIVE partnered with drum & bass DJ NYMFO to form the project Road Kahan. This new venture explored a more ambient, chill, and deep house sound, a departure from their heavier roots. Their debut release on Armada Music in 2017 garnered widespread support, leading to further releases on Be Yourself Music and Nora En Pure’s prestigious Purified Records.

Supported by influential artists like Pretty Pink, Sultan + Shepard, Zonderling, and Miss Monique, INCIVE continued to evolve. In 2022, he embarked on solo releases under the INCIVE moniker, shifting towards a more melodic and emotionally rich house and techno sound. His music, characterized by its deep emotionality and intricate progressions, continues to captivate audiences and solidify his place in the electronic music scene.
