Nos marchamos a Barcelona para radiar desde las míticas Galerías Olimpia un programa que gira en torno a cómo sonó la ciudad a través de los CD Mixes que se vendían, regalaban, pirateaban y todos esos verbos que se podrían conjugar con un Compact Disc. 

Te puedes imaginar la época de la que hablamos y con ella la música que la bañó, los locales donde rebotaba ese conjunto y todo esa amplia gama cromática que la Ciutat emanó en aquellos años. 

Un programa coral, repleto de impresiones en primera persona de quien estuvo allí y ralló literalmente el formato de tanto darle al play,  y es que en la época pre podcast una sesión enlatada tenía mucho recorrido, llegaba a muchos ávidos oídos por lo que se convertía en cultura popular, no caducaba y no te cansabas de su perennidad en los reproductores. Se han perpetuado como parte del imaginario colectivo. 

Todo esto grabado en directo en el refugio que son las Galeries Olimpia, un sitio más que perfecto para jugar mentalmente con la nostalgia mientras que te bañas musicalmente de presente. Que venga la Unesco a protegerlas y a proteger a sus afables personajes.

Pocas veces se puede decir con más acierto que vamos a ir directos al corazón de la música, y es que vamos a su pulso, a su tempo; a su velocidad. A nadie se le escapa que cuando esta es baja los elementos de los temas pueden ser mejor observados, más atendidos; se pueden diferenciar hasta las colas de las reverb y esto hace que la cabeza y los pies bamboleen juntos, armoniosos. Técnicamente hablamos de esos tracks que están fabricados alrededor de los 100 Beats Per Minute, nos regocijamos en ellos y en todo lo que rodea esta manera de emitir y recibir el ritmo.

Es un hilo conductor cojonudo ya veréis, da para recorrer todos los palos de la electrónica y se repasar los artistas, sellos, escuelas, escenas y demás entes que por una cosa o por otra han sido y son más trascendentales dentro de este rollo, de esta crema sonora que es la música en downtempo. 

Se ha quedado una selección musical que promesa te va deleitar muy fuerte. Es un orgullo de programa.

Merseyside Madness

Me and Ben thought it would be fun to play a long DJ set together at Globus, the upstairs floor at Tresor in Berlin. 
We last played together (as Frequency 7) in May 2013. This time we played a ‘back to back’ DJ set, I’m pretty sure playing 2 tracks each for the whole six and a half hour set. All we had in mind beforehand was to start with some Dub and ‘see where it goes’. 

It was a lot of fun so we wanted to share the recording with you.

Dario Peteiro is the man behind Inconsciente Colectivo, a name taken from the rave collective he belonged to back in time in Madrid, Spain. 
He's previously been running Disorder Edinburgh and The Unconscious Collective / TUC Radio show, playing such an assorted music styles, including but not limited to: Slow-Mo, Dark Disco, Acid, Techno, even Electro or Breaks.
