It’s been more than three weeks since Russia has invaded Ukraine, destroying Ukrainian cities and shattering the lives of millions of people, whose world will never be the same again. The Ukrainian music and culture community is devastated by the shocking crimes of the Russian government. We wish for peace in our country above all, and we are doing everything in our power to support the people of Ukraine.

Right now It is most critical to raise funds for the Ukrainians bravely defending their country, and for those, who had to leave their homes behind. Therefore, Standard Deviation has joined forces with Mystictrax —a Ukrainian label run by Lostlojic, for our most important release: РАЗОМ ЗА УКРАЇНУ / TOGETHER FOR UKRAINE — a compilation by 65 Ukrainian and International artists. All profits from this release will be split between the following charity funds, supporting the people of Ukraine:

- The ‘Return Alive’ Fund, helping at the Ukrainian front
- National Bank of Ukraine Fundraising Account for Humanitarian Assistance
- ‘Ukraine Pride’ Fund for LGBTQIA+ soldiers and LGBTQIA+ people affected by the war
- ‘Голос Дітей’ Fund, helping children affected by the war

система | system is happy to announce an Echo EP by Ukrainian Kyiv-based avant-pop artist Hanna Svirska. 
Echo EP is a 3-track release with 15 bonus pieces of sample lines for main tracks ( you can download it for FREE at our bandcamp ). Exhausting is the main subject of the opening track and in general, this topic runs through a lot of Hanna's records. As Hanna says all tracks were recorded out of the studio while the time of the artist's evacuation period in the west of Ukraine after the beginning of the war at the end of February. That's why all tracks were recorded in the Ableton. Vocals, poetry in Ukrainian, and a dreamy ambient sound recorded while the crazy emotional historical moment is leading this release.

~ "I will donate all the money from sales to the fund "Повернись живим" (Come Back Alive). The mission of this fund is to provide technology, training, and ammunition to help save the lives of Ukrainians and our soldiers. Along with the purchase of tracks on Bandcamp, listeners will receive a bonus in the form of selected tracks and samples from the EP.
The album includes three tracks. I wrote the main part of the songs after February 24. At that time, I was evacuated to the west of Ukraine, and for creating music I had only me, my feelings, and a laptop. That is why there are no live instruments in the tracks, almost all parts are written by hand in Ableton. I wanted the EP to look like an old, forgotten record in grandma's attic, light lo-fi sound, and an ambient atmosphere. It is a work about love that heals and gives meaning to everything. Як каже Ханна, всі треки були записані поза студією під час евакуації артистки на заході України після початку війни наприкінці лютого. Тому всі треки були записані у програмі Ableton. Вокал, поезія українською мовою та мрійливий ембієнт саунд, записаний під час шалено емоційного історичного моменту, ведуть цей реліз.

~ "До мініальбому увійшло три треки, основну частину яких я написала після 24-го лютого. Тоді я знаходилась в евакуації на заході Україні, а для музики в мене були лише я, мої переживання і ноутбук. Тому в треках зовсім немає живих інструментів, майже всі партії прописані вручну, прямо в Ableton. Мені хотілося, щоб EP нагадувало стару, забуту на бабусиному горищі платівку, з легким lo-fi звучанням і атмосферою ембієнту. Це робота про кохання, що зцілює та надає всьому сенс. Саме це допомагає мені триматися зараз.

Following up on 2022's "Allegories", Insurgency continues its music curation series with "Crimes of the 20th Century". The compilation explores untraditional portrayals of violence and examines relations between industrial music and perceptions of cruelty. The label and its invited musicians intend to oppose the weaponized usage of music by extremist groups; instead, "Crimes of the 20th Century" invites listeners to reflect on collective responsibility for modern atrocity — as it is exhibited by a roster of contemporary experimental artists — within historical and psychological contexts.

система | system presents "Mundane Levitation" by Oksana Hritseva. Oksana Hritseva is a Ukrainian / Odesa-based artist, pianist, and composer. Okasana Hritseva is a well-known music composer for art projects, movies, and documentaries. All the tracks were produced in 2001.
We continue highlighting sound/productions from the beginning of the 2000-s produced in Odessa, which were never published before.

~ “I have always been fascinated by electronic music. As soon as I got my first synthesizer, I immediately started experimenting with sound and liked synthesizing new timbres. There was such an option on Roland jx3p, and I often took part in jam sessions, where my electronic sound brought a unique atmosphere of modern advanced sound, shading and decorating the sound of live instruments. A little later, I completely switched to electronic sound. I was fascinated by ambient, and I was producing tracks in this style. There were also more daring experiments and attempts to create a unique canvas woven from electronic sounds, waves, and noises. In this way, I expressed my inner state and view of reality and tried to show all the aspects of my inner world.
There was an influential cultural gathering in Odessa in the 90s, where I met many artists and media artists with whom I began collaborating as a composer. Olya Kashimbekova and Gleb Katchuk became my co-authors in many audio-visual projects. I liked improvising on the piano, and our joint project, "Flash Royale" became a hallmark of our creative alliance. We first demonstrated it at the "2 Days and 2 Nights of Contemporary Music" festival in Odessa in 2001.
I often arranged piano improvisation evenings on the premises of the Union of Composers of Ukraine, and II liked this format of my implementation. If I needed to write an electronic track, I turned to the recording studio specialists, recording the arrangements on notes.
One day my friend brought an audio cassette containing remixes of my songs created by the Kyiv electronic musician King Imagine. His view of my music struck me, and we met and became friends. During that period, I realized that I needed to make music myself without the help of studio specialists. King Imagine helped me a lot with this. He came to Odessa and let me equip a small studio in my house. The presented tracks refer to that period. For me, it was a breakthrough, I immediately received an order for a soundtrack for a documentary series about a famous traveler, and I had a new wave of inspiration. Odessa, at that time, was seething with creative energy. Many contemporary art exhibitions and concerts, and I have already participated as an electronic composer. I like to write ambient. It reflects my inner world, the depth of my experiences, and my view of reality.” ~ Oksana Hritseva.
