You might think of this as a reissue of a record that never existed in the first place.

In 2002 I started a band called The Go Waves. I remember getting the call from Ray offering us our first gig while I was walking past Winchester Guildhall. I wasn't sure we were ready but he talked me into doing it anyway. My first ever show and possibly the same for other guys too.

I think Jon, Jo, Paul and I only played six shows total before it ended. Five at Winchester's The Railway Inn and one at The Joiners in Southampton. We had the classic rock band line up; two guitars, bass and drums plus three part harmony vocals.

We didn't make a record unfortunately. The live recordings made directly from soundboards to minidisc are weirdly mixed so they're not going out for public consumption.

I think the songs have a certain charm and some people really liked some of them. So I've recreated them now the technology is here to help with this sort of thing.

Our super fun, final show was 28th June 2003 on my 21st birthday. As that's almost exactly half my life ago it seemed a good time to put these versions out now.

As and when, there may be a "Go Waves E - Z" too. Maybe for my 84th.
