"One of Sweden’s finest Per Hammar returns with the aptly named ‘Returnation EP’, the 8th release to drop via his own Dirty Hands imprint, in what he describes as some of his most notable work to date. Three tracks gliding seamlessly through the world of minimal tech and dub, the three tracker offers straight up head-down club music fit for the late night / peak time party dwellers.

Kicking off the EP is the 10 minute long title-track ‘Returnation’, which mindfully meanders through dark and dubby terrains, slightly picking up in the second half for what unfolds to be a beautifully mastered body of work. Following that is ‘Honda’, with a groovier and bouncier bassline it still features the darker warehouse elements which consolidate the whole EP but oozes the quality of a peak time roller. On the B-side you find the final track of the EP ‘Hydra T Dubb’, slightly pacier compared to the previous tracks it delves into a bouncy loop paired with atmospheric sounds from the cosmos.

In true Per Hammar style, retro synths, effects and consoles such as the Roland SH-101, RE-301 and the Studer 169 are used in combination with up-to-date gear, especially on the A1 title track ‘Returnation’ and B1 ‘Hydra T Dubb’’. The A2 ‘Honda’ is actually named after one of the modules in his Eurorack modular system, the ‘Piston Honda’, which he used a lot in its production.

“The work of Returnation EP spans over nearly two years. To find a combination of tracks that makes them reach the EP’s full potential is not easy. And to be honest I don’t feel that all my musical works should hop on the kind of journey that I want for this EP. But after a long dark winter of studio camping I came out on the other side with a handful of tracks that I felt I wanted to share. And as usual, the tracks which still touch me after some time of relistening, are the ones where I switch off any type of thinking and just let my hands be one with the machines.” – says Per Hammar"

Unidentified Flying Phenomenon. The mystery...unsolved. The Others....are coming. Or have they been there all the time? We keep on looking outside, scared and excited. Who is the Other, who are we? An exciting adventure is about to begin toward that discovery both outward but above all inward.

Masomenos have always explored the parallel worlds with lightness and hope. Bringing in their universe all the humor and kindness they’ve met on their path. Their music, weird and intriguing for some, lively and trippy for others, is like an ongoing story told over more than 15 years of musical production. Their rounded boundary territory is inhabited by funny creatures, and mystical figures.

In this new opus, they surf the frontier between club sound and home listening, inviting friends over for the ride. Julien Quentin at the piano, Adrien Boisseau at the viola, and San Proper at vibe & vocals.
