Dream a little dream of me

Was reminiscing, feeling nostalgic about past musical experiences  and found this old recording from my school choir days singing Joyful Joyful, originally by Beethoven. The energy and spirit of all our peers and ppl in the audience is absolutely and amazing and beautiful here....  

I was 17 then and listening to this now is crazy...  Thought I'd share.  I'm singing the solo in the beginning and other the solos at the end are sung being by 4 old choir friends...

Here's PART of my Rock/Indie Mini Opera/One Big song based on A. J. Olain's clever little script 3am Blues for this competition through the English National Opera. :)  (It's not finished yet but the plan is it SHALL be done by tomorrow since it's the deadline.)  I was immediately was drawn to it because of it's good energy and simple quintessential kind of love story set in modern times while using technology as the main element. Right then and there I started juggling around main ideas for melody themes and such after reading it. It sprung MUCH musical inspiration for me. Always had a soft spot for love stories :)  I just loved it!  Thank you Olain! :)  

I tried to keep it real and enhance this beautiful light hearted story while creating a mood to hopefully give the filmmakers something to really work with, take it to the next level and bring the full circle back around to really bring out this story Olain has painted for us..... Of course I REALLY wish I had a better way to record this because I'm not all all a producer or any sort of whiz with recording and making it sound professional, but since I had JUST found out about this competition I had to make the best with what I had.  Put together in just several hours everything here was written, recorded, produced, played and sung by me, Jennifer Zuiff.

The only instruments I used here were piano and voice.  I added some sound effects like reverb to both the piano and voice to give it more depth. If this is set to film I would just die. I hope it happens! MUAH! Thank you for listening and hope you enjoy!!! More to come! YAY! :)

Decided to put another one up from a rehearsal a while back now :)  This one is harsh but then totally uplifting. Kinda like what life can be like sometimes I guess. Felt compelled to share this same message yet again but through my perspective this time ;)

I decided to overlap/loop these vocals by total accident when I was just transferring this famous solo i did at my old church one day after choir rehearsal from several months back. This came from my buzzy handheld sony recorder by rerecording it onto my garageband on my mac.  When tracking the second one (so it could be audible) it was not exactly in time as the first one when I recorded it.  When I played it back it gave this "row row row your boat" type effect.... I loved it and decided to make this.

Moon River Overlapping/Loop Vocals Accapella (REMIX ME INTO DUBSTEP or ANYTHING :)

This is just a one straight vocal/one take I sang one day after church choir rehearsal many months ago...just putting this up now.  It's barely audible at times and fuzzy bc I recorded it on my handheld Sony little bitty recorder and then rerecorded it onto my mac but still listenable I think :) 

Enjoy and PLEASE by all means if you want to chop this up and remix it into whatever it is you are hearing - do it! (And msg me :)

This is another original of mine - definitely winged this one but surprised how great the main musical ideas came out.  Can't wait to record this one for real whenever that  will be.

My talented friend Ian Glosup wrote this song and I have always thought it's absolutely beautiful.  He passed away suddenly today at age 20.  In the short time that we knew each other and spent together I had the honor of listening to his music he so bravely chose to share with me.  I happened to have this amazing song in my itunes and now I cannot not put it up and share it with the rest of you. 

Ian was an exceptionally brilliant and honest young songwriter that was attending Georgia State University.  His favorite musical influence was legend John Lennon which is very apparent in the song.
