"We walked the earliest edge of Sunday, winter dark; streets lined up with standstill cars,
silver, grey, and black, and white; while the ever-distant sun, then further still, was slowly
breaking into shining. The town was quiet, gleaming; the rows of tenements – awash with sky.
And we rarely chanced upon a person, save the stocking-wrapped, shadows without bodies,
and that nude and mouthless one. We turned into a narrow lane past the power station,
the mute red lights of chimneys looking down at us. We reached the concrete halfpipe
of the dried-out canalside. And listened out for it. To disappear.

KEEN DISTRESS
Keen Distress is an experimental music project formed by Blazej Malinowski and Robert Matysiak. Their music is a unique fusion of electronic and avant-garde styles that result in a haunting experience. Keen Distress is set to release their debut album, "Overshadowed" in September 2023 on the Inner Tension label. The album features intricate, glitchy beats and atmospheric soundscapes that create an otherworldly listening impression. In addition to their innovative sound, Keen Distress also places a strong emphasis on the visual aspect of their project. The peculiar images (no CGI, just fluids on a microscope slide) that accompany their music were created in collaboration with Cosmodernism.

Welcome to our sixth trip, this time our friend John has prepared a sound story full of textures and hypnotic rhythms that we are sure to enjoy.

John Plaza is a Chilean artist based in Barcelona, owner of Linderluft Records.
His sound is characterized by minimalist percussions, continuous atmospheres,
breakbeat rhythms and a search for mental travel and movement.
Since he started with productions he has released music on labels such as KVLTÖ
Records, Annulled Music, Fur:ther Sessions, BAHN· Records, Ancestral
Process, Postdynamic, NFEREE, Space Textures, Circular Limited, for name
some.
We can also highlight his active collaboration in more than 30 podcasts worldwide
showing his vision of deep and hypnotic techno, MONUMENT Podcast and The
Memoir by Hypnus Records are his most important contributions.
He has had support in his productions by artists such as
Claudio PRC, Ness, Svarog, Dorian Gray, Lakej, Alexskyspirit, Abstract Division, Len
Faki, DVS1, Petit Astronaute, Doctrina Natura, Save Your Atoll, Kontinum, Blazej
Malinowski among others.
Some of his tracks have been remixed by artists like
Joaquín Ruiz, Dorian Gray, Smoley, Fernie, Petit Astronaute, Martyn Päsch,

Pipiltzintzintli EP is designed as a concept-opus around the notion of psychedelia in electronic music. It is conceived exclusively using sounds from hardware synthesizers and modular systems.

 The repetitive motifs are chosen here for their organic and cerebral aspect; they act physically on the listener, the intention being to seek out sounds that act like active principles, like psychotrops. The idea is also to maintain a rather minimalist approach, with reduced use of percussive and/or melodic elements. Multilayering is used here to access a deeper sonic dimension, to tap into the inner self, a mental image like an imaginary, unconscious landscape. 

There's also an acidic dimension to the album, with references to a whole section of the history of repetitive electronic music: Warp's pre-2000s period with LFO and the distinctive sound of early Plastikman are particularly present here. The opus is rounded off by the unique touch of producer friends Gëinst, Inerit and Accou, who all revisit a track of their choice in their own way.
