Bio:
 Aurganic is an experimental electronic/alternative project of two long-time friends Mike and Leo. Originally high school classmates, they were members in a number of local punk rock bands until life separated them for a number of years. As the time passed the tastes had changed. They reconnected musically in 2010 finding a lot of common ground. This time it was electronica, art rock and jazz that dominated the ideas flowing from them. Without further ado, the duo recorded instrumental sessions in a format of a self-titled EP, discovering how well they complimented each other with Leo’s strong production skills and Mike’s compositional ideas.

Taking the project to the next level, Aurganic released a self-produced full-length album entitled “Life as a Canvas” in March of 2012. The album included multiple vocal and instrumental guest appearances from local Toronto artists. As a result, the new material emphasized the introduction of song writing to
the duo’s sound. “Life as a Canvas” was well received by the public, praising the clever mix of live and electronic instruments, as well as pristine technical execution.

Riding the creative wave, Aurganic got back into the studio to record a full length follow up "Deviations" featuring the familiar collaborators. The album material puts a strong emphasis on songwriting and vocal oriented ideas but does not lose the signature layered production and rich instrumentation. "Deviations" is to be released on September 24th, 2013.

Fresh on the heels of his June 2013 release "Howlin Wolf EP", which The Huffington Post said "definitely conveys the original emotion of dark brooding -- the raw elements and power of the bluesman", The Tomas Doncker Band are back with a new release entitled "Power of the Trinity...A Slight Return" (The GLOBAL SOUL Mixtape Volume 1), to be released through Doncker's own True Groove Records.

"Power of the Trinity...A Slight Return", Tomás's latest release, is a Global-Soul  meditation on the legacy of Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie. It features contributions from legendary bassist/producer Bill Laswell, Ethiopian singers Ejigayehu "Gigi" Shibabaw and Mahmoud Ahmed, legendary Ethiopian guitar hero Selam Woldemariam (who also served as production consultant for the project), saxophonist Peter Apfelbaum, trumpet and horn arrangements by Steven Bernstein, international Avant-Funk Super star Joseph Bowie, and a host of New York's finest jazz, funk and rock musicians.

Doncker's describes his definition of global soul as "The sound of our collective conscience. The unified rhythm of heart beats creating a positive, spiritually uplifting force for good. Musically speaking it is not genre specific, but in fact genre inclusive. It is the best of what we have to offer to each other, from Brooklyn to Ethiopia, and everywhere in between."

The EP is being released in support of The Studio Samuel Foundation's 1Hundred Girls Impact Plan (www.studiosamuel.org), a charity that supports young women in Ethopia.

Bio:

As a prime mover on New York's downtown "No Wave" scene in the early 1980s, Tomás Doncker cut his teeth as a guitarist with such genre-busting groups as James Chance & The Contortions, Defunkt, J. Walter Negro & The Loose Jointz and many more. Eventually he went international, touring and recording in Japan with jazz pianist Masabumi Kikuchi, and producing studio and songwriting sessions with Boosty Collins, Yoko Ono, Grammy nominated Reggae vocal group The Itals, and Grammy-winning producer Prince Charles Alexander, to name just a few. Since then, Doncker has continued to work with an A-list of iconic musicians, including Ivan Neville (on his solo album "Thanks"), Bonnie Raitt, Meshell Ndegeocello, Living Colour lead singer Corey Glover, former P-Funk keyboardist Amp Fiddler,2013 Grammy award nominee Shamekia Copeland...and the list keeps growing. In 2008, he produced and released Inside Out, featuring his band with percussionist Daniel Sadownick, and followed that with The Mercy Suite, featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Yusef Komunyakaa. Of Doncker's work, The Huffington Post says he "definitely conveys the original emotion of dark brooding -- the raw elements and power of the bluesman."

In 2010, Doncker performed for the first time in China as a headlining act at the Shanghai Folk Festival, and in front of an audience of over 100,000 as part of the Shanghai World Expo. His latest work as a singer/songwriter and producer embraces a broader musical vision that he likes to call Global-Soul, drawing influences from numerous sources, including East and West Africa and the Caribbean.

The summer of 2013 has been quite exciting for Tomás. He was chosen to create the score for Critically acclaimed playwright Mando Alvarado's "Diablo Love". It was directed by Alfred Preisser and premiered  during the course of 9 performances at N.Y.C. SummerStage Theater (Presented By Time Warner).

"Diablo Love" is a fantastical love story featuring live music that re-imagines songs made famous by American Blues singer, guitarist and harmonica player, Howlin' Wolf along with original compositions by Tomás Doncker. This production provides audiences with a masterful live soundtrack of Blues/Soul music and sets the stage for a dynamic theatrical performance about love,lost souls,and the fiery pits of hell...

Tomás released a 5 song E.P. Of Howlin' Wolf tracks that were featured in the show (and to be performed by the Tomás Doncker Band). This new E.P. contained an Original Composition "Shook Down" which Tomás co-wrote with Pulitzer-Prize winning poet Yusef Komonyakaa. The music of Rooftop Runners ripples positively original pop waves through far darker lyrics than you'd expect from your typical indie fair: a seething concoction of trippy electro beats and spine-shattering bass lines is equalized by soulful falsetto vocals and folksy, dissonant guitars, making for a sobering but enjoyable listen.

Forging a mix of menacing mood and moving melody out of their adopted city of Berlin, Germany, RTR are Canadian singer-songwriter brother duo Benedikt and Tobias MacIsaac. An internationally accomplished choreographer and dancer respectively, the brothers are no strangers to performing-arts success, having toured and performed extensively with world class troupes in Europe.

Rooftop Runners' new 4 song EP "We Are Here" will be released April 3, 2012, and it's meant as both an affirmation and a promise that "RTR has arrived and they are here to stay." With fervent response from local music media and a rapidly growing fan-base, a European Tour starting this February and an eagerly-anticipated full length debut album also due in 2012, the siblings seem set to drop their pioneer strand of Trip-Pop at us from rooftops the world over before long. Contributing to the new EP were Grammy Award winning producer Jeff Bova (Michael Jackson, Billy Joel), Ryan Miller (RM Music) and renowned engineer Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers).

Neurogenesis features 4 alternative rock tracks which explore a range of concepts from Oppenheimer and the creation of the atomic bomb in ‘Neurogenesis’ to the longing for life in ‘Neverending Spirit’. Bio: EndAnd is a noisy punk/alternative trio from Brooklyn, New York that have been recommended by influential publications such as Large Hearted Boy and Those Who Dig. The band embrace both feedback and pop sensibility. Starting in early 2011, Daniel Fern and Mike Morales played for months as a rock duo (à la The White Stripes and Hella). Dan's experienced, versatile playing and writing style became an instant crowd pleaser, backing powerful, gut-wrenching vocals with rock solid guitar work.

Dan had previously played the guitar, drums and bass on his early demos; in live performance he looped parts to overdub, while Mike held the groove or shook the building from its foundations with his intuitive and masterful percussive navigation.

As the duo gained steam, so, too, did their reputation for kicking ass, garnering increasing attention and respect at their rehearsal space, and home away from home, King Killer Studios (Gowanus, Brooklyn). After a show at Williamsburg’s Public Assembly, where they serendipitously shared the stage with fellow KK band Capita Clip, Dan and Mike, sparked by the low end emanating from Capita's sound, asked bassist Bill Fitzgerald if he'd sit in at their next practice. Fitzgerald gladly obliged.

Bill jumped on board during this first rehearsal, bringing the vision of a power trio into fruition and forming EndAnd. With impressive vocal capabilities and spine-bending bass lines, Bill turned the project into a band when Adventures of Fi in Space was performed at the album’s release show later that week.

Everyone, past and present, from the King Killer community is represented here: Ernest D'Amaso and Willie Chen of Generator Ohm; Dan Kramer of The Stink; and Robert Allan of We Are Augustines are among the many that contributed to Adventures. The album, comprised of Adventures of Hi Fi and Adventures of Lo Fi in Space, two EP's consisting of pristine studio recordings and a collection of DIY recordings, respectively, rang in 2012 with an amazing start.

Bio: Walking on sticky floors, stepping on to a stage that's too small for their swagger, let alone their equipment, setting up under dim lights and dropping a sound check on an unsuspecting audience. Eyes look up, jaws drop and the phones come out, inevitably texting their friends to come check out this band, this Ill Funk.

That scene has played out weekly for the Albany-based band, The Ill Funk Ensemble, since 2006 to great results. Described by reviewers as "a kind of 21st century mash-up of Kool & the Gang and the Isley Brothers" and "all hot sand and asphalt", Ill Funk takes hip-hop and R&B in a different, yet oddly familiar direction. Bio:
Vajra was formed by composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist, Annamaria Pinna during her self-imposed exile in India. The child of a former monk and school teacher, Annamaria was encouraged to learn about the world around her and to question her assumptions. She believes there is divinity in creativity. Annamaria has a neurological condition called synesthesia, where she attaches color and shapes to sound.

The debut album "Pleroma" was released on the Summer Solstice, 2012 (6.21.12). Pleroma is an exploration in paradox (east vs west, soft vs pummelling, female vs male) and includes appearances by Blake Fleming (ex-The Mars Volta) on drums, Doug Wright (The Dirty Pearls) on bass and Will Dahl (ex-Harley's War) on guitar.

Vajra's music is hauntingly dark and hypnotic weaving Eastern Indian themes with melodic, progressive rock creating foreboding and mysterious lullabies. Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of A Down, Prince, Johnny Cash) co-produced the vocals and mixed. Tom Baker (NIN, Foo Fighters, Ministry, Prince) mastered.

The band is quickly generating a buzz after selling-out their first show in November, 2011 (at The Bowery Electric in NYC). Virgin America selected Vajra's single "Erode The Will" for their In-Flight Entertainment Series in December, 2011, and Vajra's music is currently being played at over 200 radio stations nationwide, syndicated radio shows, podcasts, and music websites. The band just performed two shows at SXSW and recently played to sold-out audiences at The Bowery Ballroom, The Mercury Lounge and The Bowery Electric in NYC. Bio: Klassik, an up and coming artist out of Milwaukee, is a breath of fresh air for everyone from hip hop heads to jazz enthusiasts to Rock N' Roll fans. Klassik has already rooted himself within the Milwaukee music scene with his unique ability to produce innovative tracks with catchy meaningful lyrics. With several jazz festivals across Europe under his belt, not to mention self-taught piano skills, and a keen ear for rich and new sounds, Klassik already boasts a distinguished performance resume. He has shared the stage with the likes of Asher Roth, The Cool Kids, Rhymefest, Lupe Fiasco, Cranberry Show, and Prophetic, while also hosting several performances as a headliner.

Klassik was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He grew up playing alto saxophone and is influenced by a variety of different artists and genres. Throughout his youth, he was tutored by local legend Berkely Fudge on the alto saxophone and piano. Klassik's classicly trained ears and jazz improvisation skills transferred easily when he began to produce his own music at the age of 14.

Fast forward to the present and Klassik's music has evolved into an eclectic form of hip hop, rhythm and blues, and jazz. Some of his major influences include Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Kanye West, and Steely Dan. His music continues to impress all willing listeners as Klassik distinguishes himself by writing and producing all of his original material without sampling.

Bio:
Ernest D'amaso, Michael R.P. Morales and Willie Chen created Generator Ohm in 2010.  Their union, facilitated by the genesis of EndAnd, took place in the heart of Brooklyn. Because of the friendly, cooperative, and productive environment of King Killer Studios, where Gen Ohm calls home, their certain fate was sealed on the terms of the affable and the dreamer. This was a place where musical endeavors could blossom:  A place where work could be accomplished. And by the summer of 2012, Generator Ohm had produced in the company of the venerable Dan Kramer, a record of their last two musical years, a record of high fidelity.

Generator Ohm's debut album, Upon the Me Om I, is an aural panacea against the spirit of sloth settling in digital sediment. Upon the Me Om I is a genre-bending collection of songs written by Ernest D'amaso, or by Willie Chen, or as a collective writing unit. While the songs are different, the tie that binds is the spirit of Rock n Roll that all three members hold to high esteem.  Michael, who came late into the band after the songs of Upon the Me Om I were constructed and arranged, brought the fulfilment Ernest and Willie long sought for in the second year of Generator Ohm.  His eclectic style of varied influences from jazz and world music, to pop and punk was the exact rhythmic counterpart Generator Ohm songs needed. There are Pop sentiments everywhere hidden under the raw tone of Ernest and Willie's unpredictable playing styles.

Once Michael joined the band to bring Generator Ohm out of it's nativity, the group blossomed in its second year and began their efforts to put their songs to tape. What began as a two piece in 2010 was now a complete triumvirate of esteemed musical calibre.  In the Fall of the following year, 2011, all stars aligned for the path to making Gen Ohm's first release. They approached the project with their eyes and ears on the sounds of Fugazi's Repeater, The Pixies' Surfer Rosa and Come on, Pilgrim, RHCP's 'Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik', Nirvana's 'Bleach' and Jeff Buckley's 'Grace'. Six months later, a completed LP was produced and ready for the masses. Meanwhile, Generator Ohm played weekly shows in support of their new record all across the lower NYC area.  By March of 2012, Generator Ohm had found a place for themselves amongst the ranks of high-calibre musical talents surging out of King Killer Studios, in Gowanus of Brooklyn, NYC.  Now, Generator Ohm runs to the future of music with a crew of superb Brooklyn bands such as EndAnd, The mOrgans, The Stink, Kenji Urada, Capita Clip, and TinVulva. It is not the work of one band, but that of a wave of bands that define the value of the era. This is a birth; a singularity that will flower into a significant musical movement of New York.

The future is bright for a band like Generator Ohm.  With skills to write songs of any tempo, depth, genre and melody, Generator Ohm will be creating the artistic facsimile of the world for years to come. Bio:
Chords of Truth is the brainchild of Jason Garriotte, a folk singer/songwriter who has embraced the electronic music world as well as the art of collaboration with an unrelenting spirit. The project is intended as a trip of deep self inquiry, with mind-expanding lyrics to support the journey.

In September of 2011, Jason started writing melodies and lyrics that would soon emerge as his debut EP "Reflections of Reality". Working with producer Jeffrey Joslin, they released the album to critical acclaim. Technorati.com called him "an acoustic powerhouse", while Blrag.com said he is "striking some deep truths with his lyrics and music. While the music is restrained acoustic material, the lyrics are closest to the spiritual output of Tool's Maynard James Keenan." Jason also paid his dues on the road, touring a variety of cities throughout the United States playing countless shows.

Since the release of "Reflections of Reality", Jason decided to collaborate with various producers to see if his message would translate well in new formats. The experiment was a success, and he soon recognized that many of his new fans were from the electronic music community, and with a long history of mind-expanding ideas to their credit, the new listeners appreciated the lyrical content and intent of the project.

This was the birth of the "Chords of Truth Remixed" project, a massive undertaking that eventually found Jason working with 14 producers to create an official double album as well as 8 additional remix EP's spanning a multitude of genres settling under the moniker "folktronica". From the original 7 songs, there are now a staggering 57 remixes/interpretations.

"After the positive response to my acoustic EP, I felt there was a potential for these songs beyond my initial vision and wanted to see how far things could be taken. So I put the stems into the hands of electronic remix producers from all over the world to let them create their reflection of the originals and this powerful collection of musical expression is what appeared.

Monks Of Mellonwah Release 'Ghost Stories' Single

The year 2013 has so far shaped up to be a busy and successful year for Australian Alternative Rock band the Monks of Mellonwah. After 3 EP's since 2009, the band has recently departed with their 3rd release, 'Sky And The Dark Night' and is now celebrating their new partnership with company A&R Worldwide (Muse, Coldplay) with the release of single 'Ghost Stories'. Ghost Stories features the single 'Ghost Stories' and two new tracks fast-tracked from their debut album 'Turn The People', which is set for release in late 2013.

The band has been described as the 'birth child' of bands such as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, noted as their primary influences. Their music includes hard-hitting Alternative Rock combined with elements of space and electronica, and their forthcoming releases are a testament to this. Their most recent EP, 'Sky And Dark Night' explores elements of classism and film music, noting Hans Zimmer as their primary inspiration for it. The three track EP takes the listener on an epic journey of discovery and musically marks the continued evolution of the band into a darker, more intense exploration of their combined talents and influences.

The Sky And The Dark Night Trilogy was released in March and has since been reviewed by over 50 blogs worldwide, being described as "nothing less than symphonic artistry in its purest and rawest form” (Limerence Magazine 2012). The 8-minute long Trilogy has also enjoyed significant airplay in its entirety across a number of radio stations in Australia and NSW, and to celebrate it's success, the band has just released the Trilogy on limited edition 10" vinyl.

The 'Ghost Stories' release coincides with the bands' recent selection to play at Singapore’s acclaimed Music Matters Festival, as well as their involvement with A&R Worldwide. Having won respective awards for 'Best International Rock Band' and 'Best Indie Rock Band' at the LA Music Awards and AIM Music Awards in 2012, and following an East & West Coast tour of the US, the recent deal with A&R Worldwide marks the bands continual push at breaking into US and International Markets. The release of a full-length album in late 2013 will also see the band doing further touring both nationally and internationally.

Bio: The Monks of Mellonwah are a four-piece alternative/indie rock band based in Sydney, Australia. The band has toured nationally and traveled to the United States twice, winning awards for Best Indie Rock Band (2012 AIM Awards) and Best International Act (2012 LA Music Awards). In addition to international and national radio play, College Radio in the US and Canada, "Neurogenesis" received hundreds of reviews and features worldwide, including coverage on MTV, Big Takeover Magazine, CMJ, Kings of A&R, Noise 11 and Tonedeaf. The media attention earned them licensing spots through a number of production companies in the US including Discovery Networks and Bunim Murray.  The video for "Neverending Spirit" also received high profile exposure in the US including MTV Networks. The College Music Journal (CMJ) featured the track on their MixTape for May along with a feature of the band in their magazine.

The Monks successfully toured for "Neurogenesis" throughout Australia in Summer 2012 working with Tone Deaf, and continued their outreach with a United States tour organized by President Entertainment.

Their debut full-length is currently in production, partly with legendary producer Keith Olsen and partly self-produced. The Monks have also signed a development deal with A&R Worldwide (Adele, Muse, Coldplay). Intensive touring plans are in the works for both Australia and the United States in 2013.

My Woshin Mashin (that's right - My Woshin Mashin) was created by 3 friends from Russia and Germany. It happened in 2010 when Bibi Tulin and Hugo Simons left their previous bands and decided to make something new and different. Later, under the influence of German dance tunes, Mike Patton's work, English metal bands and old school music these three released their first demo-tape "Amazing Demo", extended play "We Came in Peace" and their first long-play "Mawama" which was called "amazing (9/10)" in Brutal Resonance E-Zine, "funkelnden Kitsch" in Zillo Magazine and "better than amphetamine" in Russian Billboard.

Musically, My Woshin Mashin is eclectic and intense, but not without humor. Visually, the group's music videos have earned them recognition on MTV, in art schools (their "Twenty One" video has been shown in multiple art schools as an example), and even surrealistic trash movies such as "The Smell Of Love", which sold out on DVD.

My Woshin Mashin's new full-length album is appropriately titled "EVIL MUST DIE", and due April 30.

Of the new album, the band says "Our first album was about the characters we love (leutenant Columbo, Robocop, Godzilla etc). Hard beats, funny lyrics, dance tunes...you know, a very funny album. But when we were working on "Evil Must Die" we decided to concentrate on things from the "real" world - degradation of the television, money as a modern god, animal rights, really bad people we know and their behaviour, the loneliness of true heroes etc. By this album we're trying to say that people must be more intelligent and simple, they must to try to change themselves into a better way and try to find the real values of life. It's not about the money, a good job, democracy, power, expensive stuff, social networks or television. But it's about the inner God who can be described simply - Love."

NYC ARTIST MARLA MASE ANNOUNCES SUMMERSTAGE APPEARANCE

New York rock/crossover artist Marla Mase has confirmed that she and guitarist Tomás Doncker will be bringing her "Speak" show to Summerstage 2013, joining a lineup that includes The Zombies, Django Django, Dead Prez, Lianne la Havas and Rakim. The CD "Speak Deluxe" found Marla touring both China and Europe, being honored by Friends of the UN, and receiving top reviews from publications such as The Huffington Post, who said "her feisty message of peace will perhaps wake up the beast in all of us".

"Speak" is a multi-media concert and dance piece inspired by the songs of Marla Mase’s acclaimed 2013 album, "Speak Deluxe". Combining live music, spoken word, dance and visual imagery, Marla has teamed up with choreographer Adrienne Hurd, filmmaker James Jankiewicz, and director/producer Sara Berg (who directed A Brief Night Out, Marla's rock opera about a women going through a mid-life rock-n-roll crisis in 2012) for one of a kind show. "Speak" presents a powerful portrayal of "the universal woman's" confinement, sexuality, body image, trauma, oppression and freedom, celebrating the raw reality of the human condition as expressed through the eyes, bodies, and voices of women. Through the expressive movements of a troupe of seven dancers, each of whom has a distinct voice and tale in the mini-stories, the dancers will explore the archetypes that make up the idea of what it means to be a modern woman.

The music, co-written by Marla Mase and Tomás Doncker is an integral part of "Speak" and features elements of Rock-n-Roll with World Beat, Punk, Funk, Electronica, Reggae and Soul and will be performed live at each performance with both Mase and The Tomás Doncker Band.

Marla Mase's "Speak" performance takes place on June 15th, 2013 in Herbert Von King Park and August 17 at The East River Park. Both performances are free to the public. Marla Mase is a writer/performer/producer/singer/songwriter from New York City. She writes songs, plays, monologues, short stories, erotica, blogs, and poems. Marla is known for her provocative, raw performance style and intelligent lyrics and is regarded by her peers as being a true musical pioneer of our time. She is backed by the Tomás Doncker Band. Just off her first tour in China where she was invited by the Friends of the UN to perform for UN GLOBAL PEACE DAY in Linzhou City, Marla was given an honorary “Messenger of Peace” award for her visionary work as a songwriter and performing artist. Her fans span the globe.

Marla is about to release the DELUXE Edition of her album SPEAK (on Feb 28, 2013) which will include the 10 songs on the original 2010 album plus 6 new tracks including Piece of Peace, AnnaRexia (a reggae track featuring Garrison Hawk from Bill Laswell’s Method of Defiance), and Bill Laswell’s dubmix version of AnnaRexia. AnnaRexia is spearheading the StayImperfect Project or Love Your Butt Campaign, which Marla created to empower women to not only accept but love themselves and their bodies. Proceeds from AnnaRexia as well as emerging artist, Lael Summer’s track, The Good Fight (whose EP Marla co-produced with Doncker) will go towards theprojectheal.org, a non-profit organization founded by two teenage eating disorder survivors, that raises scholarship money for girls whose families cannot afford to send them to treatment.

Mase is currently developing THE SPEAK SHOW, a multi-media concert/performance piece using music (from SPEAK DELUXE), spoken word, dance and visual imagery to explore the themes of confinement, sexuality, body image, trauma, oppression (internal/external) and freedom as a means of celebrating the raw reality of our human condition as expressed through the eyes, bodies, voices of women. It was recently booked for NYC Summerstage 2013.

Her debut album, the rock opera, A Brief Night Out (BNO), tells the story of a woman, having an affair, breaking-down, obsessing on war and re-assessing her life. It is also the soundtrack to a theatrical version of the same story that has been performed in New York City with Broadway Veteran Martin Vidnovic playing all the male roles and also as a one-woman show directed by Sara Berg.

Marla’s play, The Canarsie Line directed by Kathryn Rossetter, ran at The Bank Street Theatre to sold out audiences in 2002. Her play Man/Woman was work-shopped at the Abingdon Theatre in 2004.

Marla has her MA in writing and performance from NYU and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

Most importantly Marla is the mother to two beautiful souls.
