We had no idea that more than 5 years later we would've hosted so many amazing artists, and even more amazing human beings. As regulars at @initiate_concept we figured @pattrn_dj is the right soul for the occasion. He is co-founder and resident of the event series. They invite guests and labels to the @fusebrussels motion room on a regular basis. This morning finds us at the end of 2023, the last Sunday of the year. We’ve been so fortunate to have a wealth of wonderful guest mixes to accompany our journey through the seasons and our arrival here is no different. Brice Deloose aka Pattrn is a Brussels based producer, and dj, not to mention label owner as well. As head of Initiate Records, Brice’s discerning ear for quality music extends through many different genres, which aptly describes his mix for us today. Gliding effortlessly through the varied flavors of ambient and downtempo, Brice weaves an introspective tale, perfect for morning walks, or those moments of solitude before the onslaught of the day.

Here’s to a final send off of 2023, and onwards to 2024 for more music, more challenges, and above all, more Sunday mornings…

Podcast #017 : Kaelan.
Nico Campanella was born in Putignano (Italy). His first approach to music took place at the age of 11 years when he started to study piano, and shortly after, thanks to his great devotion and deep passion for everything concerning music, he was involved in different local bands.
Subsequently, his love for electronic music started to blossom, thanks to great artists such as Basic Channel, Robert Hood, Substance et Vainqueur, Derrick May, Jeff Mills and many others.
During the last few years, his necessity to propose a multifaceted vision of electronic music, made it necessary to create new projects, such as “Kaelan”, which became his main alias for techno. Under his side project “2030” he propose electro inspired music, while “Ixm” is his pseudo for dub techno music.
He is owner of Subosc and co-owner of Ranges label projects. The former aims to propose modern and classy techno music, while the latter is a tribute to reminiscent dub techno sounds.
At the moment he’s collaborating with some of the most known techno european labels such as CONSTRUCT RE-FORM, CLFT, Monnom Black.

Hydrangea is a French producer, doing techno music deeply inspired by nature and its surroundings. She began producing music in early 2014, influenced mainly by the deep and hypnotic Italian techno. Besides being constantly preoccupied in reshaping her sound and developing new ways of expression through music, she's also a graphic designer and photographer under the alias Horty Shooter, managing the artworks for different music releases and graphic art projects.

Born in 1986, Pattrn started learning violin at the age of 4.
He discovered the first electronic sounds when he was 8 and got a real revelation at the age of 12.
He started to mix at little parties in garages with friends.
He began to learn piano by himself at the age of 15 and went to production when he was about 17.
Some places he played at this time: who's who's land, pablo discobar/club 60 , la peniche.
Then in 2005, he organized for the first time a party called "I Need Techno" wich became later "I Need..." to propose a quality alternative to clear channel's I Love Techno.

Along these bookings he turned some records for : Fuse, Zodiak Club, MIMA Museum, The Wood, Red Line, Café Bota Stéréo (CBS), Electric Park (Wood), Apéro's St-Job, Sofitel (luxury hôtel toison d'or), La péniche, Dali's bar, Wax club, Marignan, La Bodega, Nemo, PikNik Elektronik, Tibv, Club des Halles, Barocco, Café Modèle, Radio Vibration, WarmFm,..

He's co-organizer of Initiate conceptat Fuse as well as co-founder of the Brussels Electronic Marathon

Paula Koski has carved out a niche for herself with a multifaceted sound that ranges from ambient to experimental to richly layered, dark, textured and psychedelic techno. In her carefully curated mixes Paula projects her sense of aesthetics and composition into non-verbal tensional sound creations, creating stories that always have a clear common thread. Paula is one of the musical curators of techno platform, collective and event series Monument, and this position gives her a kaleidoscopic perspective on contemporary techno.

Revelation Of Sound is pleased to present Viels who was born in Milan (Italy). Early in his adolescence he discovered techno culture inspired by a book called “TECHNO“ by Christian Zingales. 
Having released his first Ep on Initial Berlin in 2015, Viels continued his musical path appearing with a track on the well respected dutch imprint Dynamic Reflection, followed by his debut ep “Distrophism” and contributing for the 10 years anniversary of the label, among some of the most recognised artists in the scene : Donato Dozzy, Mike Parker, Shifted, Oscar Mulero, Blawan, Ness, Jeroen Search and many more. Co-owner with Francesco della Sala of “End Of Perception”, Viels just released on label such Non Series and Semantica Records, Edit Select.
With an increasing interest he is now resident of Acquario party in Milan and also performed in quality line-ups around the globe, with the likes of The Gods Planet, Svreca and Dasha Rush to name a few, Viels is establishing himself as part of a new wave of djs and producers approaching the contemporary techno scene.

Sonic experiments derived from syncopated rhythms, intricately crafted ambiences, and patiently evolving textures, Pattrn’s work as a producer bases itself on the creation of space and its perception for the audience. Playing violin since the age of four and later on majoring in both acousmatic music composition and sound engineering, Pattrn’s precision is the fruit of a lifelong dedication to music of all forms, from creation in itself or through his implications in Brussels’ scene. 

Beyond the years of technical know-how and self improvement in production, DJing, and live sets,  Brice Deloose aka Pattrn has been an active member of the local scene for quite some time. Cocreator of FTRSND, Brussels By Night Federation, Initiate, as well as having been the artistic director of Fuse club, Pattrn has spent much of his time promoting local artists and collectives to push forward Brussels' underground. 


Having shared the decks with the likes of Luke Slater, Luigi Tozzi, Claudio PRC, Kangding Ray, Svreca, and many more, Pattrn uses his sets to impose his world of seamless hypnotic music to lure passionates for always one last dance.
