Bekannt ist das Produzenten-Gespann @atlantik für seine in guter Erinnerung bleibenden Live-Sets, bei mir war es ihr Auftritt beim Fusion Festival vor nun vier Jahren. Doch auch ihre Releases können sich hören lassen. Bislang veröffentlichten Clemens und Georg, die in Berlin und Köln zu Hause sind, auf Labels wie Sisyphon, Areal Records, Keller Label, Acker Dub oder Lenient Tales. Ihre nächste Publikation soll nun auf der Kölner Plattform @feinestier erscheinen: „Snö“. „Wir wissen nicht mehr genau, wie der Bezug zu Skandinavien entstanden ist, aber es hat mit der Weite des Landes zu tun und der Kälte im Winter." Atlantik - Snö (Schlepp Geist Remix)

Berlin-based Tanz Aus Der Reihe crew launches their brand new label with a release from their own lines: Marius Drescher kicks off with his "Floating" EP, including remixes by Manera, who just released a remix for Einmusik, and Raphael Hofman from JEUDI Records.

The original mix of "Floating" features Pete's mellow vocals, accompanied by a pumping yet melodic foundation. "Denial" is a peaktime pusher, deriving its energy from a massive and gnarly bassline. Manera's remix of "Floating" uses the vocals in a much more driving surrounding, sprinkled with many little details and a melancholic twist near the end. Last but not least the EP gets complemented by Raphael Hofman, whose remix of "Floating" brings a different vibe to the release and perfectly rounds off the catalog number 001.

"Floating" will be out 8th of February.

It is a new year and Heinz Music is ready to set it off with a bang! Daniel Jaeger is a familiar face to the family and especially loved for his skillful molding of synths. Together with the young and talented Raphael Hofmann he has set out on a deep and mysterious journey, resulting in their “Lost Unit” EP. The title track already sets the tone, and a dark and ominous bassline leads the way towards a soundscape of stabbing and atmospheric synths culminating in a powerful break. Secondly, “Kids On A Riot” continues with a flaring groove and massively pulsating bassline.  It is a kind of euphoria hidden in the melody, just eagerly waiting to create some frenzy on the dance floor. Daniel and Raphael’s third original track, “Generation Change”, funks it up a bit. A tight and bouncy drum work sets the scene, introducing mysterious melodic elements and chords, underlining the silky vocals.

On remix duty for “Lost Unit” they have gotten DJ Lion on board, the label owner of Patent Skillz and a guy considered to be one of the Balkan’s pioneers of underground music. Style wise the remix gets a bit rougher around the edges. It is a powerful dynamic going on here between DJ Lions dirty bassline and the somewhat reshaped melodic elements from the original. The second remix is from German based DJ and producer Joseph Disco, who is adored world wide for his captivating music and performance style. Joseph has put his hands on “Generation Change”, stripped it down to the essentials and then used the parts to create an infectious tune vibing off of the strong bassline and the deep and dark melodic synths, supported by neat percussions.

It is a huge release ready to create a stir among old and new followers, the style hitting the nerve of time perfectly. No doubt this great selection of tracks is soon to be heard on dance floors all over the globe.

You can always count on Kotelett to serve up some vibrant melodic monsters, and the follow-up to his acclaimed ‘Lifted’ EP for Exploited Ghetto is now here. Three new gems. Three new weapons for your crate.
‘I Got Something For You’ typifies his less-is-more approach, taking just a few key elements and squeezing every last drop of energy from them. The focal point is the pumping arpeggiated bassline which could be equally at home in an electro or psy trance banger. Its rising melodic progression gives the track a feel that’s somewhere between euphoric and dark, and with the pitter-patter of his shuffling hi-hats and succinct synth hooks including cute 8-bit blasts supporting the weight of the b-line, he concocts a sleek dancefloor juggernaut.
‘La Metta’ thrusts along at a more urgent pace, with heavenly ‘80s synth pads building the vibe over an incessant bassline melody. The retro feel is continued by a sprightly detuned lead line and a cute percussive, pitch-bending riff, but the rug is yanked from under our feet by an intensely atmospheric, tense, dramatic breakdown. This moment of intensity breaks up the track beautifully, giving the lead line a renewed intensity upon its return.
The EP is completed by the electro-disco bounce of ‘Prism’, complete with cheeky cowbell and synth-tom fills. The bouncing bassline is complemented by ascending and descending melodic scales, and a breakdown that sounds like R2D2 malfunctioning in rhythmic fashion. The elastic groove keeps you nodding your head throughout and a sparse percussive arrangement lets the synth magic intensify from all angles.
