Defrag is extreme sound design and audio rhythmic experimentation of Jeff Dodson, a composer and sound designer living in Los Angeles CA.

Defrag's influences like IDM, dubstep and experimental abstract glitch, filter into his music. With his classical background giving it a more cinematic progression. Orchestrated strings, piano, classic analogue synths and software processing add up to a fusion of analogue warmth, modern classical and raw digital abstraction.

That he chooses instead to make his attention to detail the vehicle for his songs rather than their focus is not only admirable, it’s a definitive comment on his priorities and where they lie. Defrag makes complicated music, but you can completely forget that in the moment and just experience it.

Hexalyne returns to Point Source Electronic Arts with Exivvaves, the second part of a trilogy begun with the acclaimed 2022 release Null Surfaces.

While the first installment was a study of form and texture, Exivvaves explores the energetic flow and dynamic movement of sound. Complex percolating beats bubble and boil unpredictably, as swells of undulating synths rise and fall like the tide. Throughout six seamless tracks, all substance is in continuous motion.

Liveset with tracks from the Metamorphosis album on LXVIII.

As a product of Amsterdams artistic avant-garde, Douglas Calii found comfort in expression trough a carefully hand-picked blend of styles and genres. Unbound by contemporary cultural norms and expectations, Calii adopts an eclectic view on the human experience, using art and sonic storytelling as a means to communicate a range of complex emotions and reflections on the nature and absurdity of existence.

Metamorphosis is a project which portrays a story of personal crisis, fear of authenticity, addiction, the acceptance of the human condition, and the beginning of a new phase in life. The project follows stages of mental decline due to a moral conflict with the self and serves as a description of the early-adulthood crisis. The work contains seven pieces, each of which in chronological order of events paint a picture of the death- and rebirth of a new perception of reality.
