Foreign is the pseudonym used by Miguel Vázquez under which he plays sets of IDM, avant-techno and electro sounds, combining the smoothness and efficiency of transparent melodies with abstract landscapes and dense atmospheres loaded with complex polyrhythmic structures. Throughout the years Foreign has played in several events of Hard Taste, A.I. Series and in clubs like NAO, Dub Club, Specka, Graffiti, Shagü Club, etc. Has also published podcasts for different record labels and web platforms (Sin Hilo, Gladio Operations, Zanderhythm, Archaic, etc.). In 2022 he created his own label, Mutoscope Records, mostly oriented to IDM sound. Its first release (by Veelargo) was released in November 2023.

This Mix was done with all vinyl except for track 11.

This mix is a reflection of my 10+ year journey through the (bass) music scene as a listener and later as a DJ, Event Curator and Label Manager of "Eyesome". The selection starts off rather gentle around the 120-140 bpm mark with dub(step) and 4x4 UKG material before dipping into drum 'n bass. Both styles were highly influential to my taste in music from early on and up until this day continue to shape it. I feel lucky and privileged to be able to work with so many talented musicians on a regular basis. Hope you like the mix which I recorded - S/O Palanga Street Radio for allowing me use their studio.

We invite Deutan for an excursion into the abyss for the next Modern Hypnosis Podcast. 

A disciple of Ōtautahi’s pre earthquake drum&bass/jungle scene. 
Deutan’s then moniker ‘Jumbo’ started buying records at 15. 
Eventually playing various outdoor, club and soundsystem nights. 
Later including Subtle’s legendary formative dubstep parties.

Moving forward, after living in Berlin and two stints in Melbourne see’s him leaning more into leftism-techno, electro, house and bass offshoots. 
Drawing from experiences, inspiration and a constant search for deeper cuts allows his sets to weave through emotion whilst pushing narrative.
