@odalie a voulu consacrer ce mix aux « musiques planètes », les tracks qui révèlent des paysages, des lieux imaginaires ou de grandes étendues qui font voyager loin loin loin… ailleurs. Entre ombre et lumière.

The Malawi Broadcasting Corporation recorded a goldmine of local music in the 1960s and 70s, but the tapes were neglected and close to ruined when broadcaster Waliko Makhala raised the alarm. With help from the Norwegian Embassy and Norwegian broadcaster Sigbjorn Nedland, digitization got underway. In this program, we sample the results guided by Waliko, Sigbjorn and Martin White, curator of AfricanPoems, a website dedicated to preserving poetry from around the continent. Produced by Martin White.

Solid Steel in association with Serato (28th August) It's an absolute pleasure to welcome Andrew Hung from Fuck Buttons to Solid Steel this week. Alongside Benjamin John Power they have released 3 albums on ATP Recordings, headlined the Park stage at Glastonbury and featured in the London Olympic ceremony. Andrew has since released Rave Cave earlier this year with Rave Cave 2 coming out in November. With music from Mr Fingers, Drexciya, James Holden, DJ krush and Digital Underground in his mix, he had these words to say;
"I tried to create a cohesive mood with this mix whilst traversing the patterns of my taste (which is probably why there’s a few of my own tracks in there acting as milestones for me). That’s the beauty of music for me; music can transcend the boundaries of our ego allowing us to access the infinite. Maybe."
