Continuing to seek the positive in the face of the mutable and inevitable, your favorite hippy goths, Hazy James & Millennium Culkin, are back with a double single/double remix EP "Out For You." It’s the new follow up to their thuddingly ethereal, transcendent psychedelic debut, Days Go By… which became a bit of a summer anthem last year due to heavy support from Lauren Laverne on BBC6 & the crew at 1BTN.

First up on the EP, title track, "Out For You" is an anthemic belter filled with ripping guitars (two solos....wtf?!), pounding arpeggiated bass, 808 drops, plus a dreamy break filled with slide guitars that rumble, build and explode underneath Hazy James' airy falsetto. Designed for arena madness and soundtracking your moments of catharsis. 

Not satisfied with just arena filling vibes, Each Other (Justin Strauss and Max Pask) take the original and twist it into a different experience which should really only be beamed down from a DJ booth orbiting the Earth to a fully global dance party. File this in the "Peak Time Festival" folder.

Flipping over to the b-side, the energy is high but the feeling a little colder on "The Night" - a chugging, introspective, escapist anthem for anytime the sun goes down. Sonically it's a little goth-punk and a little bit acid house. (Alt: Sonically it’s got a little goth-punk flavor with some acid-house taste) This is the first song on the playlist for your journey to a destination not yet known, just any-fucking-where but here. 

NY icon, Juan MacLean picks up remixing duties and turns in a taut, lean, dark, body moving machine. Shimmering synth lines cascade over a rough hypnotic beat, conjuring memories of Maceo Plex hammering to a packed, smokey floor at Trade.

Washington, D.C.-based FIBRE and Glasgow-based ev.exi team up on Montaime to propose a toast: “Here's to You”, a French Electro-flavored single that’s an ode to the fans and artists that helped solidify the Future Funk scene.

Since their 2018 collaboration “Cascara (ft. FIBRE)”, Future Funk pillars FIBRE and ev.exi explored new ways to fuse their unique sonic hallmarks: FIBRE’s plunderphonics expertise with ev.exi’s massive, dirty basslines. The two branched out into their roots to fuse not only their identities, but their French House and Future Funk inspirations.

Now, FIBRE and ev.exi proudly debut their new single on Montaime with “Here's to You”, a housey love letter to the Future Funk scene that took over 3 years in the making.

DJ and producer Justin Faust has been a well-known part of the international dance music scene for more than ten years. Based in Munich, but closely associated with the Portuguese DISCOTEXAS label (Moullinex, Xinobi and others) and New York's legendary Nervous Records, his style is as diverse as the people he works with, having releases and remixes show influences from Nu Disco, House, Funk and beyond. Apart from numerous original releases like his 2014 album 'Spellbound', he has crafted many popular remixes for the likes of Childish Gambino, Treasure Fingers, Goldroom, Moullinex or The Knocks, not to be outdone by classic earlier reworks of Missy Elliot, Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk, Ariana Grande and Janet. What followed were extensive DJ gigs and tours as headliner, playing at parties across Europe, the US, South America and Asia as well as appearances on Annie Mac's BBC1 radio show, a feature in the critically acclaimed TV show 'The Leftovers' and collaborations with legends like Mats Bjorklund, who has recorded with Boney M. and Giorgio Moroder.

We are proud to present Justin's first release on Emerald & Doreen 'Famous' and celebrate with two additional remixes by Jesuon & Outtake.
