The already-awesome (and creepy?) Binding of Isaac main theme orchestrated by me.

I haven't had the chance to play this game but people have said the main theme is the most memorable theme (also racking up +100,000 views on YouTube!) so I decided to give it a go.

The Binding of Isaac - Main Theme

An orchestra piece I wrote. Named 'Sorrow' because of the sheer amount of loss emphasised through the playing of the strings and the humming of the bass.

Sorrow

Inspired by Puzzle Agent and Professor Layton, this theme is bound to get the brain going when working on a puzzle. That's what Puzzle 8 from Puzzle Agent and the main puzzle theme from the Diabolical/Pandora's Box did so well. I decided to create on of my own.

Puzzle

This is the last ever official track I wrote with Linux Multimedia Studio (apart from my fun track from Homestuck found on my Tumblr), and possibly one of my most favourite video game soundtracks of all time. Spectrobes: Beyond The Portals is a Nintendo DS title I own, and still physically have, as a child. Amongst the great gameplay, fun visuals and lovable characters, the music is what captivated me the most-- especially this soundtrack.

Spectrobes - Beyond The Portals - Genshi

Eragon is one of my most favoured Gameboy Advance games I owned as a child and still currently hold. Although I didn't complete it -- my GBA SP still works so I've still a chance to --I really did enjoy the RPG-style gameplay. But what took me by storm the most was the music, as usual. Originally composed by Ian Stocker & Steven Velema, the game featured intricate, orchestral-like soundtracks that is almost impossible not to forget and not to sing along to.

I took one of my favourite themes and orchestrated it. I really hope you enjoy!

This is a preview of an upcoming track I'm currently writing within FL Studio inspired off music from one of my favourite games called Primal Carnage. 

Note: This track is a rough copy of what I am currently working on. It has not been equalised and has been levelled out for the purpose of this preview. The finished product will sound a lot better than this.

Prehistoric Prey (Indie Orchestral Original PREVIEW)

"You are awaken by the unholy sound of what would appear to be that of a predator most fear; most speak of; and most run from at first sight. Thoughts run through your mind like water down a stream. You begin to panic. You have no time to pack your things. You know it’s on its way and you know it’s hungry. You begin to recall past conversations regarding the survival rate of a Tyrannosaurus-Rex attack. Unlikely. It would be more likely for you to win the lottery than to survive an attack from a Tyrannosaurus-Rex. It’s time to go. It’s time to leave your belongings behind and run. Hesitantly, you poke your head out of your current home you spent weeks on building. It’s made out of wood, Oak to be more precise, the only durable material you were able to find on such short notice. You hear the roar again. This time it’s louder. Your heart begins to pound faster as the Tyrannosaurus-Rex begins to draw nearer. Right, now it’s really time to go. 

Without thinking, you burst through your wooden front door and make a run for it, heading towards the dense forest you see before you. The panting noises you make as you run, induced by the fear of being eaten, draws attention to the Tyrannosaurus-Rex, who is only a few yards away from your wooden hut. It sees you; you know it sees you. With a quick burst of energy the Tyrannosaurus-Rex springs into a full-speed sprint in your direction with intentions of making you its dinner. You are fully aware of this yet you keep running, for you want to survive. You continue running through the trees, as fast as your legs allow, and realise that the Tyrannosaurus-Rex is nearing closer and closer to you. It’s only a few yards away and you then begin to give up hope and accept the consequences. You are going to be eaten and the dense forest you are currently in will be the last you see. As your legs begin to tire out, you begin to slow down and resign. You turn around and face the best as it aggressively charges at you, opening its mouth to swallow you whole. It’s nearing closer…and closer… until you begin to close your eyes in preparation for the death that is about to come…

*ROAR*

You hear another sound that makes your blood run cold. This sound did not come from the Tyrannosaurus-Rex, you then realise. You slowly turn your head to the left in the direction of the sound and notice the angry, ferocious-looking Spinosaurus charging in the Tyrannosaurus-Rex’s direction. The Tyrannosaurus-Rex focuses its attention on the bigger and more powerful beast and turns to face it. Its attention is now focused on the Spinosaurus which means that you are able to make a clean escape…

That was a close one."

I recently watched the Create a Sim trailer for The Sims 4 and was quite interested in the music that was playing in the background. Because this is Indie Orchestra and I want to orchestrate everything I can, I thought it would be cool to do a little piece of my own.

My interest for music began at the age of five; my father introduced the Yamaha PSR-170 into the household. Upon its first arrival, still as a young child, I could care less about the classic keyboard that I would soon get to know better, until one day, out of boredom, I decided to give it a good go.&#13;

Even at the age of five, I had a massive liking for video game soundtracks and music. What better way to break out a new keyboard learning the song you’d like to hear on the piano/keyboard. With my good ear and little knowledge for keys and what they produce, the Super Mario theme song is the first song I had ever learned to play properly on the piano/keyboard. First the right hand section, then slowly onto the left, and then successfully both simultaneously! As my interest for recreating my favourite pieces on the keyboard grew stronger as I grew older I started to learn more and more complex pieces including the Tetris theme A song, Legend of Zelda main theme song, Touhou pieces such as U.N Owen Was Her and Flowering Nights, and a few various pieces I have transcribed from Gameboy Advanced titles such as Lady Sia and Sonic Advanced 2. Fast forward 12 years later, prior to writing this, I’m now able to play the piano at a professional level, self-taught, without ever participating in a single piano lesson. Previously I have had a few evaluations from piano teachers only resulting in them telling me that what I am doing to learn, I’m doing right and that I didn’t need lessons. From then I have always been interested in teaching myself new things. I'm currently self-teaching myself the guitar.&#13;

Off the back of learning to play the Piano on my own successfully I had grown the interest in composition – being able to create my own pieces of music. In 2007, with my very underpowered, Windows XP running machine, I began to practice learning how digital composition works with a free audio program called Linux Multimedia Studio. At this stage I was only practicing what I wanted to learn: How to create my own music. It wasn’t until 2011 where I had released my first ever LMMS song on YouTube. After getting well acquainted with LMMS as I continued to experiment with tracks using different ways of composition through means such as soundfont files and various other VSTis I then began working on an album based off music from a free-to-play video game developed by Three Rings and published by SEGA called Spiral Knights with compositions originally composed by Harry Mack. On May the 4th (be with you) I released my first Spiral Knights remake on YouTube which then galvanised me to create more tracks and eventually get around to releasing it as a full album. On the 25th of August I had released Spiral Knights: Remixed! (my album) to the world. The album had accumulated over 3,000 downloads through MediaFire. Thank you to all who shared and downloaded the album!&#13;

After the release, my forever growing interest in natural instruments, instruments of the orchestra, grew so strong that it made me want to release a bonus track based off Spiral Knights, solely using (not so good) orchestral samples with Linux Multimedia Studio. Shortly after the release, the urge to recreate people’s favourite pieces of music in orchestral form was at an all-time high, forcing me to take what I knew about digital and virtual composition and move from the lovely Linux Multimedia Studio (thank you LMMS for all you’ve taught me!) to the more complex/commercial Fruity Loops Studio: Producer Edition. I then began learning how FL Studio works (which is very similar to LMMS), using Edirol’s Orchestral and created my first ever (decent?) orchestral-quality soundtrack on my YouTube: Terraria’s Underground Hallow. Not too long after, on September 14th my YouTube name was rebranded from IS91Videos (love you buddy) to Indie Orchestra. Since the rebrand, I have created a good amount of orchestrations, from Terraria, to Spiral Knights, to my very own and I continue to do so. I just need the support from you lovely people.&#13;

Why is your logo a horn?&#13;
The horn is my favourite-sounding instrument in the entire plethora of natural instruments, especially when played softly. A good example of where the horn shines is Dota 2’s main theme (coupled with the choirs) and Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 4 in Eb Maj K.945 Rondo Allegro Vivace (what a mouthful).&#13;
