This is an example track of what a bossfight in an epic-scope videogame could sound like if I scored it. 
In the process I got heavily confronted with what I am fighting internally. Shame. The sense that something within me is inherently wrong or rotten. There is a menacing, overshadowing presence corrupting what I do and how I present myself. And the curious thing is - there is a certain comfort to be found in it. I know this feeling so well, I can hide behind it. I don't have to show myself. The enemy hands me a shield to protect myself. 

Only through letting down my guard, through vulnerability and courage to be my most authentic self, can this monster be defeated and true freedom be obtained.

Loving Freedom

Return to Olympia was originally written in 2015 as an entry for a Composition Contest. I was a fledgling composer and I had just recently gone through an abortion with my long-distance partner at the time. They were living in Olympia, Washington at the time and the creation of this piece coincided with my first visit back there after we went through what was probably the roughest experience and decision of my life so far. 

Being reunited with somebody that felt both so close and so far away is what is most alive and reflected in this piece. Having two violins as the protagonists climbing a metaphorical divine mountain, negotiating their tension, their love, their similarities and differences. 

This metaphorical journey found its resolve when I was climbing Mt. Shasta about a year later, but that's a story for another day.

Return to Olympia

Another old piano piece (2016), reflecting and processing an intense relationship and following breakup. It's a token of love, trust, internal demons, the fluidity of identity and the recognition of deeply engrained patterns, cycles, beliefs and fears. 

It's the first acoustic piece I've ever recorded and produced myself. So please excuse the roughness. New recording might come in the near future.
