Another tale unearthed from The Upanishad Project with Dale Crowley and friends. This one asks the question, the Prashna.

Fifteen years ago I was collaborating with others online to make some music that I think was pretty innovative, maybe even ahead of its time; perhaps for a niche more than the mainstream but I was happy with where it was going.

Then, complex chronic disease took hold of my life and forced some tough choices about how to spend my energy, and had to set that creative dream aside for the most part, dabbling in it out of love here and there but not having the wherewithal to follow through.

But that changed again in 2024, when my illness progressed further, and wrecked my ability to do my day job, and now with time on my hands I find the creative sparks are flying again and that returning to music is doing me good. So some of what I’m showing here is a dusting off of old stuff from that earlier era, and some of it is completely live and improvised medleys with original words, off the cuff rambling and scat, or mix-ins with lyrics from other existing lyrics or poems on top of improvised musical arrangements. Listen in; you’ll find some of it is very raw but within it, you just might find glimpses of the sublime. (Not to brag. But you might. And you might also hate it to its core; I’m OK with that and I’ll still keep being me!)
