Indigo: Dat Somethin'

Indigo is a 5 piece band based in the south coast. We consist of 3 main writers: Tuala (Vocals/Lyricist), George (Guitar) and Matt  (Keyboard) backed by a tight group of session players for Bass & Horns. Our producer Rod (Formerly "Stealers Wheel" & "Ming Hat Jazz Quartet") is our drummer. 
I suppose we are a mix of Jazz, Soul and Hip Hop with a bit of pop. We're heavily influenced by artists such as Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, Robert Glasper Trio, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill and Gill Scott Heron, paired with our individual hero’s like Hendrix, Sarah Vaughan and Debussy. Our sound is unique, a mix of punchy melodic vocals with outspoken, cryptic lyrics, a groovy, solid rhythm section and warm, electric guitar lines over moody piano harmonies.
We believe music should be real and from the heart, this is a huge part of our music and our everyday lives. What matters to us is love, realness, consciousness and beautiful music. These last few years have been a journey for us and the outcome is written in the songs off this album. We are all very excited and confident about our material and anticipate the public’s reaction.
