Duende is a term, originally from the Spanish language, for a heightened state of emotion, expression and authenticity, mostly connected with music or art. Duende is the spirit of evocation; the act of bringing or recalling a feeling, memory or image to the conscious mind. It comes from inside as a physical or emotional response to music or art. It is what gives you chills, makes you smile or cry as a bodily reaction to an artistic performance that is particularly expressive, as an embodiment of the human condition of joys and sorrows.
