The concept behind this split 12” is simple. Two artists who are divided by the Atlantic Ocean but unified by a love of classic New Beat sounds. Andi, boss of the New York City-based Synthicide record label/club night and Aufnahme + Wiedergabe recording artist, combined forces with Sheffield’s Industrialist and lover of underground Body Music, Randolph & Mortimer, to present their own interpretation to the unmistakable Belgian genre.

Thus, “Torque Force” was forged. A landscape where seedy neon-soaked city streets merge with the clang of hammers and of industry: Gotham versus The Steel City. Andi brings pure style to Side A with driving beats and rolling, lo-fi percussion overlaid by seriously funky basslines and ominous samples. Side B is jammed with the unmistakable dancibility found in Randolph & Mortimer’s oeuvre that forces the body to move —with intense, in-your-face synth lines and precise beats, there is no choice but to dance.

The four tracks on “Torque Force” are not just uber cool dancefloor killers, but could easily soundtrack a slew of 1980s dystopian cyber-sleaze movies. She must have violated the program…

Today we present Cardopusher's killer EBM infused remix of "Velvet Summer", which comes off Antoni's debut EP on Italo Moderni and features four original tracks influenced by the Bakalao from Valencia in the 90’s. The EP also includes a massive remix from Jensen Interceptor.

Fire was once stolen from the Gods, taken from their grasp to serve the needs of humankind—mastered to bring light into our darkest spaces. But to steal from the Gods their very emotions, to feel what they feel…what burning pleasures might that provide?

WIE EIN GOTT seeks to answer that question in the form of the most fire underground music it can bring together under one digital temple roof. The odyssey of Johannes Stabel, the Berlin label was forged within the crucible of Stabel’s collaborative work on his own musical venture XTR HUMAN. To craft such a body-jacking synthesis of gothic atmosphere and dance energy, he was brought into the company of a host of producers, artists and dark-minded individuals. Each burned as brightly as he for that perfect and eternal emotional transcendence to be found within the club, that rising swell from within that seems torn from the breast of Heaven itself.

The first champion to emerge from the gates of WIE EIN GOTT strides forth blazing, a compendium of aural might inspired by the very Gods from which it draws energy. It’s quiver is filled with a rain of hand-selected EBM arrows forged not only for their concussive power, but also to inspire that rush of heroic mental fortitude. Each of the nine tracks bring a different strength, summoning to the dance floor electronic evocations as blackened as the shores of Erebus, as driving as the hips of Phanes.

The opening volley by London’s OLIVER gets down to business immediately with concussive blasts of bass and a synthline to send your courage soaring, before being launched into the night sky with pulsating Tech Noir from Saint-Petersberg’s Rudiment. UNCONSCIOUS peels back the veil of reality to expose the raw beating heart of Chronos, the Milan producer twisting time with a searing cut that evokes the crystallized Now as much as the nostalgic throb of days past. Summoning the icy majesty of figures from his Greek heritage, Alpha Sect’s orbital hammer falls with glacial irrevocability, opening the gates of Hades for a consciousness- shattering purgatorial descent with Berlin’s Clarissa.
Formed from these mental shards, the razor-sharp blades of Parisian doom machine Termination_800 bring pure automated apocalypse in under six minutes. As the heralds of Swærm ravage the plains, heeding the incessant cry of synthetic death, the warped shrieks give way to the horns of Thanatos. This is the crushing weight of Endless Nothing, the metal-minded Italian berserker sent to burn the celestial palaces, to bring the Gods to their knees—to become as Gods, in that moment of transcendence. Descending from Olympus, prize in hand and heart, XTR HUMAN sings the final cry of triumph, a gleaming celebration of our Humanity and—however brief—of shared Godhood found in the throbbing fires of the dance floor.

Soil Records is celebrating its second anniversary with many acts truncated due to the health crisis but, the label was built a few years ago with a beta phase that perfectly details the foundation of the project and the readjustment of SOJ. We can understand that it is currently Soil Records exploring the steps of SOJ, the alma mater of this platform, conceived at first to house only its music.

For four years the label operated as a testing ground, as a double embryonic process that transformed both its tenant and its environment. The development was equitable, SOJ’s first releases clearly showed that at first the artist’s intention was to work with techno, but soon he began to move to a more industrial context and the label’s response had to be proportionate with his new line, which is none other than to adapt exclusively to the musical tastes of his manager. Soil Records is precisely that, a symptom of the artistic concerns of its owner, of his sound favouritism and of his evolution, either as a producer or as a mere listener and fan.

Soil Records as such was established in May 2018 with the publication of Oublie. This Group’s album was the first release by an artist or project outside the platform and was also the first reference published on physical support, this time on cassette, in the label’s most standardized format, which it combines in a more punctual way with vinyl. Nevertheless, there are already seven deliveries published in plastic format, but magnetic tape remains its great bet with nearly 30 editions.

The first steps as an officially established label detail many qualities of this label such as having a good eye for new blood. Group was the one that inaugurated the series of cassettes, a project that at that time did not have the credibility and the name that they have today, later on it was other artists that took their place in the label and of which we knew little. This aptitude is only due to SOJ’s confidence in his own musical criteria.

We have witnessed the life cycle of Soil Records and perhaps we have become accustomed to not observing its evolution more closely. Now, it is the most normal thing in the world for us to see his catalogue increasing every week and to see big names appearing in his references, but behind all this there is a hard and very well structured work. Without any doubt Soil Records is currently one of the best examples to understand the current industrial scene.


To celebrate these two official years of activity, Soil publishes a special edition with a personalized box in which we can find merchandising from the label and an album of various artists in cassette format with tracks from Aditya Permana, Arabian Panther, Ed Dix, Midnight Passage, Rambal Cochet, Rise Black, Sigmoid, Vltra Delta Drive and WLDV.
