The British label Tales of Psychofonia started its recording activity in 2020 and now, at the end of 2022, it is releasing a fourth reference by Helena Markos, the woman who runs this platform. Integration is the first musical contribution to her label, but it is also her debut as a producer. Integration is a four-track EP featuring three original tracks and a remix by Irish artist LAIR. The EP is the result of a long process that started at the beginning of the 2020 pandemic. 

'Integration' reflects the process of integrating repressed or forgotten elements of the self—a drums-focused track with the artist's vocals creating an atmosphere of determination. The track 'Angels' is a reference and a tribute to the Greek author N. Kazantzakis. 'The angels have a mouth but do not talk; they speak to God through dancing.’ A synth-driven piece with a magnetic intensity, resembling an imaginary angelical dance; Angels as the elements that protect us when things seem uncertain and scary. 'Endlessly Submissive' is a bass-led track, capturing the agony of the slow days during difficult times. It becomes a representation of painful realisations around the self and the world. Insisting vocals keep repeating: 'Endlessly submissive to the misery imposed by your shadows.' Finally, LAIR's cathartic remix of 'Angels' honours the original's vocals, surrounding them with an incredibly imposing aura of emotive synth pads magically created by the artist. A piece of art that moves and elevates the spirit.

Chris Scates is from Houston, Texas, but now resides in the Washington, D.C. area of the United States. Before the Vireasach project, Chris was the creator of Audio Spectro, which birthed five singles, four EPs, one LP, tracks featured on six compilations, produced six remixed tracks for three different producers, and two collaborative tracks as part of Gruvstation Record’s FuseFreqs.

Vireasach (“Viral” in Irish Gaelic) is a new project that draws inspiration from Metal, Industrial, and EBM.  Their first EP, It’s a Corrupt World After All, draws inspiration from two years of frustration with the Covid 19 pandemic and world governments’ resulting authoritarian abuse of power.  It’s a Corrupt World After All merges Thrash Metal-style guitar riffs with Industrial and Acid Techno synths and beats to formulate a balance of raw, driving power.

Description:
This is the second volume of the compendium of artists connected through their dark sounds called "Atlas of Penance". Its main objective is showcasing the different explorations of occult aesthetics from around the world.
The EP opens the A side with a gloomy, feet-dragging, post-punk track by Hanging Freud, goes to a dream-like techno-ebm rave with Kenny Campbell and finishes this side with an industrial infused half tecnho/half electro track of Syndikat Kommando 98, a project by Viktor Lenis (Cute Heels, Modernista).
The B side is no less stronger, starting with a straight up techno banger by the prolific producer Drvg Cvltvre, moving on to a genre defying track filled with experimental elements fuelled with modular sythesis and harsh kicks by Black Potion, and ending the EP with an anxiety inducing dark ambient track by Dim Garden.
