“Ximo Noguera started DJing in 1991, attracted by the vibrant electronic scene in Valencia in the late 80s. His interest in EBM led him to explore other styles such as downtempo, psy trance, break beat, electro, IDM, trip-hop and minimal. Currently, his acts are divided into two types of DJ sets: a dancefloor-oriented style
ranging from experimental techno to industrial, and another type of set that focuses on experimental genres such as ambient or advanced electronic music. As a DJ, it should be noted that selection and technique are his two strong pillars.

Since 2013, together with Jesús Sierra, he has been in charge of NXT recordings, a techno-oriented label, as well as being the owner of Industrial Complexx, a platform he founded in 2019 and which operates as a record label, publishing house, webzine and event coordination linked to his activity. Industrial Complexx is also his current alter ego.

His music has been released on labels such as NXT recordings, HC Records, ART21, Industrial Complexx, Volumens and Soil Records, as well as editing books on bands and artists such as Esplendor Geométrico, Absolute Body Control, German Army, The Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Hainbach, Nostalgie Éternelle, Opéra Multi Steel, Miclono, AtomTM and Orphx.”

Japanese artist King Rambo Sound releases his newest EP, Strange Reality, on Chinabot. Analogue synths create an exuberant take on dirty acid and funky minimal. Repetitive beats, heavy bass and gritty textures mesh dub and techno influences

Sendai-based musician King Rambo Sound is releasing his first EP on Chinabot. Strange Reality (Japanese: 奇妙な現実) is an extroverted record: crunchy, repetitive beats and heavy basslines conjure up the sweaty hedonism of the club, tempered with an off-kilter sense of humour.

King Rambo Sound is influenced by reggae and dub - his name is a homage to reggae producers such as King Tubby and King Jammy - as much as techno and No-wave. Recorded with analogue Moog, Pioneer and Roland synthesisers, Strange Reality retains a full, organic sound. In King Rambo Sound’s hands, dirty acid and funky minimal get a contemporary, energetic makeover.

“The world I see is very strange and sometimes grotesque,” King Rambo Sound says. “I am attracted to these elements. The daily record of these influences is in my music and living reality.” While the grimy, repetitive meshes of minimal synths in Strange Reality explore the gritty undersides of experience, overall, his record energetically embraces even the strangest of realities we now find ourselves in.

King Rambo Sound is a musician and DJ based in Sendai, the major Japanese city hit by a massive earthquake and tsunami in 2011. He is part of the Aoba Nu Noise DJ collective which play regular shows in Sendai. He counts the internet, video games, sauna meditation and post-apocalyptic fiction among his biggest influences. He has previously released albums under the labels Unknown Precept and A2 Production.

Chinabot is a platform and collective created to change the dialogue surrounding Asian music. In 2017, a digital diaspora community of Asian artists decided to cooperate on a new way to collect and promote exciting Asian music. We want to show a slice of what we like, the cultures we come from and our own ideas. We’re an online community and a virtual home celebrating the music that falls between the gaps -- a place for adventurous listening.
