Oliver Dollar & long time friend Jason Hodges reunite on the next Industry Standard release. 
The guys have previously worked on tracks together including ‘Crusader’ which featured on Oli’s album ‘Another Day Another Dollar’ on Classic Music Company, which was also remixed by Riva Starr.

This latest track ‘Don’t You Lose Hope’ is a low-slung, Boompty House number, with jazzy keys, jacking snares and a spoken word vocal. It’s a late night real house groover that’s sure to get the heads locked in. The package also has an alternative mix, which is just a few clicks more hypnotic, and an alternative instrumental mix for the dubby DJ’s. 

Oliver and Jason have delivered another true house cut, the sound of Industry Standard.

The original release of Oliver Dollar & Jason Hodges ‘Don’t You Lose Hope’ dropped on Industry Standard in April this year to much acclaim, being one of the biggest releases to date on Oliver’s label… So we thought this one deserved some remix love!

First up comes Dallas’ deep house legend JT Donaldson. An artist who has kept up a constant flow of top quality deep house productions for well over two decades. Following on the heals of a recent Classic Music release JT delivers us a super slick deeper take on the original, using his signature drum programming, some additional keys & the original vocal to take his version into a new realm. This oozes quality. 

Next up we welcome the Brooklyn’s Barcelona resident Ralph Session, who takes up his New York house influences and delivers the more upbeat remix on this package. His version packs a punch with some sublime disco string stabs and jackin beats that instantly lift this record to a floor bomb. Peak time house music with some extra disco goodness.

Finally we bring in the UK’s Lewis Boardman, an old friend and label mate of Oliver’s, who freshens up the package taking the track in a completely different direction. This one is a crunchy, wonkier number with a lead synth line that arrives like something from a Green Velvet sound bank! It’s for the late night sets, when you need to send the dance floor to a different dimension.

Poker Flat inaugurate their brand new vinyl- only series with a special gem from Kindimmer. Born and bred in Greece but now Berlin-based, Thanasis Voulgaris has built up a steady following and gained significant sup- port from a range of heavyweight DJs.
This record puts the seal on his burgeoning reputation for sophisticated and varied house.

'Quite Beachy' teems with subtle textures and dynamic details. A rich, heavy kick and crisp percussion underpin a spooky melodic motif, casting a vibe of eerie suspense and hypno- tic intensity. 'Fractions of Essence' veers off into different territory, marrying a rubbery kick to sustained pads and snatches of birdsong. Gliding, smooth and dappled with light and shade, it's the sound of an endless autobahn journey through the heart of a dense forest.

'A Complex Network Of Flaws' and '3 Thoughts' both sit on lo-fi rhythms created from a bricolage of eclectic sounds. The former's abstract arrangement of blue chords evokes Theo Parrish at his most meditative while the latter's funk and sense of swing are sure to prove irresistible on many a peak-time floor

A year after ‘Together / That’s Right’, long-time friends and sonic sparring partners Steve Bug and Cle return to Rejected with two more statements of timeless intent that tap into the classic foundations of true techno story telling.

Long builds, emotional chords, layers and narrative twists are the devils in the detail as the pair present another couple of ageless hypnotic trips: The craftily titled ‘Tweaky Blinders’ takes the lead with its sombre one stroke chords whispering over the robust kicks and salubrious subs while the wily acid flurries between the spaces. Stately, immersive and coded with sentiment; drop it and watch the crowd march in unison.

The equally wryly titled ‘Bark Side Of The Moog’ follows suit. Once again there’s a solemn air to the chords as they sway with pensive poignancy. This time the drum arrangement is much more full frontal and unavoidable. Rolling with a sense of momentum that’s almost mid 90s prog in its energy, shine and behaviour, yet again Steve and Cle have nailed the timeless feel. Hopefully this will become an annual thing and they’ll return to Rejected for another round this time next year….
