Mexican artist Rodman dives deep on his Falcata EP for Ineffable Records, containing five club-ready tracks, with sound textures being the focus, and a remix from WVWV head honcho Octoptic. Following on from the success of his debut La Fragua which featured fellow Mexican, Nico (Timedance/Grid).

The record's title comes from the name of an ancient sword, which is quite apt as the sharp sound-design & impressive perc work slices through the EP from start to finish. It fluctuates between moods, touching on the deeper, dubbed out & echoed sounds of Rodman's palette, and moving swiftly into complex rhythmic patterns that were definitely built with the club in mind. Thus providing the perfect blend between enjoyable listening and being weapons for the dance floor. Shunt is no exception.

Después del éxito sentimental de su debut La Fragua, el productor mexicano Rodman regresa con Falcata EP, cinco nuevas producciones para Ineffable.
Por un lado, el EP siempre tiene las capas de eco análogo del dub más profundo y por momentos recuerda a Rhythm & Sound, Vladislav Delay, o Chain Reaction en general. Por otro lado, la percusión nunca queda enterrada y se desenvuelve en patrones complejos listos para DJs. Los ritmos mismos toman influencias del Techno inglés más moderno en Vendaval, subgéneros de afrohouse o hasta IDM estilo Autechre o en Falcata.

"Esa voz" nace de la composición de Paulina y su ukelele, hace ya algunos años. Con la incorporación de Teresa Arias al contrabajo y varios elementos rítmicos de su propia elección, decide finalmente terminar este tema paracompletar su EP. 

Un tema que siempre le gustó por las voces quecompuso en alguna noche vulnerable, que imagina un hechizo de magia negra lanzado sobre aquellos que engañan y sufren en soledad por ello.

Este EP es un homenaje a los gustos e influencias que conforman el paisaje sonoro y habitual de Paulina. Una mezcla de sonidos y géneros, entretejidos por la necesidad de compartir su mente abstracta con el mundo. Las letras, emanadas de experiencias emocionales, que tiene despierta o dormida, contribuyen a la naturaleza polifacética de "AMNL PRNT".

This EP represents the first of a string of upcoming collaborations between UK producer Hermanito and the underground electronic music talent of the mexican city of Guadalajara. 

This collaboration with techno producer and visual artist Synedra takes Hermanito's sound into darker territory, hereto unexplored. Atmospheric pads and sampled vocals are pummeled into submission by thick bass and tough electronic percussion.
