After many years wrapped in the throes of an intense love affair and appearing on stages all over Sydney and most recently New York, Ines found herself abandoned by the lover and told that nodules on her vocal chords meant she would never sing again. With resignation, Ines embraced red wine, cigarettes, and writing. Then, after what felt like a horrifying period of forever, her lover returned.

Portuguese born then raised in the back streets of the Inner West, Ines embodies all the sensual exoticisms of a European goddess and all the blatant upfront no-bullshit characteristics of a people who descended from thieves and cutthroats. 
Music schooled Inês in a unique way – sucking all the knowledge from rapper ex-boyfriends and insomnia fuelled ‘Rage’ marathons her own offerings are hard to place firmly in one genre, though she has been compared to the rumbling soul melodies and diary-like lyrics of Winehouse, Badu & SZA peppered with hints of Nina Simone & Prince.
Her live band brings the best of the Aussie modern jazz and future soul tastiness to the gumbo with shows that are raw & dependant on mood, she gives of herself in such a sensual and unique way it almost feels intrusive to watch.
