Descension is the first part of the album trilogy "Out on a Whim from Within”. Paying an homage to The Divine Comedy, the trilogy introduces itself as an aural parable of yet another three-part journey, albeit replaces the idea of “salvation” with reaching the state of “mindfulness in being”.
We all carry our lived experiences within us. What we encounter in life makes us. We are being made as we live and go through life, and our experiences are the fragments of mirrors that reflect our "way of being" in the world, as well as on ourselves. The perspective from which we look at these fragments defines the way we recognise and interpret ourselves and the world and consequently, the way we interact with the world and engage with life. All of our existing beliefs, views, habits, etc., have hidden roots in our personal history, and therefore, the attempt to gain a new outlook on our existence should be led with something that has close affinities both with time and our feelings. The mirror fragments are scattered across the vast extents of the wilderness that is the unconscious mind. This remote land, however, can only be accessed in retrospection: we have to plunge in the fathomless depths of time, chasing back the thin thread of a conjured-up memory. The journey inside requires not only great will and courage but also asks for sacrifice: to be able to enter the gates of unconsciousness, we must abandon all that we had previously accepted and believed; all our preconceived notions about the past. And thus begins the descent.

آلبوم تعلیق، مرحله‌ی دوم سفر سه‌گانه‌ی جاری به درون است. پس از هبوط در خویشتن، باید در خود ماند و درون را کاوید. ناشناخته‌ها را احضار کرد و مستقیم در چشم‌های بی‌شمارشان نگریست. مجالی برای گریز نیست: در نهایت، چیزی بیرون از وجود ما اگر هست، به ناچار تجلی درونیات‌ ماست، و دلیری می‌خواهد در خود ماندن، دیدن، و پذیرشی که اگر حاصل شود، یگانه پلی‌ست که به «صعود» از خود راه می‌یابد.

ماهیت این آلبوم، همانند مرحله‌ای که در جریان‌ست، همانند «درون»، تمامن چندگانه است. گاهی درجا می‌زند و تکرار می‌شود، گاهی به پیش می‌رود و گاه به پس، گاهی پایانی مشخص ندارد، گاهی آرام‌ست و عمیق، و گاهی پرشور و شدید.
اما در آخر، همه‌ی قطعات در یک باب مشترک هستند: هرچه در درون معلق‌تر شویم، هر اندازه که دقیق‌تر گوش بسپاریم، آواهای بیشتری خواهیم شنید.

Suspension is the second step of the ongoing three-part journey within. After “Descension” into oneself, one must stay within and explore inside. One must summon the unknown and look directly into its many eyes. There is no room for escape: ultimately, if something exists outside of us, it is inevitably a manifestation of our inner self, and it takes valiance to stay in ourselves, to see and to accept, which if is realized, is the sole bridge leading to “Ascension”.

The nature of this album, like this very advancing phase, is quite diverse; much like “the inside”. Sometimes it stagnates and is repeated, from time to time it moves forward or backwards, at times it does not have a definite end, now and then it is calm and deep, and at other times it is passionate and intense. But in the end, all tracks have one thing in common: the more we remain suspended within, the more we listen closely, the more we hear.

I dedicate this album to someone who is familiar with the truth and wonders of the inside, more than anyone I have known (and surely more than anyone I will ever know) :

Inexistency of Existence is a Musical Sauntering - a project seeking to aurally augment the “personal experience” of being. Each track is an "environment" composed of multiple stages or layers. At first glance, an environment may seem bizarre, alien, and swarming with details. We automatically opt for the "most important" details to acquire a sense of the whole, often ignoring the rest. But since only those environments we explore repeatedly and extensively are the ones that disclose their secrets and reveal their hidden paths to us, they are also the ones where we could truly "lose" ourselves in. Through the Repetitive, hence, the Unique can emerge. Lost in the collective, the individual can be found.
Inexistency of Existence uses rhythms and other repeating elements to create a solid foundation from which plastic changes rise, forming a unified whole as well as working to occasion a state of trance. This trance is not to be internalised, however, rather seeks to be projected “outward” on the world as we experience it.
Inexistency of Existence's music aspires to “occur through disappearance”, which is comparable to how we experience our surroundings when we meditate: we would know the world still exists and is out there, but at the same time, it would be profoundly encompassed by a sense of nonexistence. The word "Inexistency", thus, finds its meaning as "the state of being inexistent".
