EMA’s Woozy label returns with @sharu 's Match My Sway EP; a powerful club record that sits proudly in the canon of modern protest music; written in 2021. Dubstep-influenced electronics meet spoken word on the continued struggle of oppressed nations’ fight for liberation. Comes with a slamming Walton remix, with all artist profits going towards the Kyiv Angels and Repair Together charities in Ukraine.

Sha Ru are a New York-via-Berlin based duo renowned for their deft mix of spoken word and club electronics, gaining notoriety thanks to their exhilarating productions and renowned live, hybrid and DJ sets. Having spent most of their time based between two different countries, the covid pandemic unexpectedly united the band in Belarus and subsequently Ukraine for an extended period of time. They quickly found themselves immersed in each country’s  respective electronic music scene, building strong relationships within each community. It quickly became apparent that both countries were actively fighting for their future freedom, and the duo felt compelled by the unity they experienced in this to respond with music. This resulted in Match My Sway, a record chronicling resistance both lyrically and sonically that found a suitable home
on EMA’s impressively futurist-leaning Woozy imprint.

The EP opens with Temporary Iteration, a fierce steppers track with plummeting subs that chronicles a moment of transition into clarity by focusing on the ‘now’; staying true to your belief by moving directly towards your goal together. Not Fluctuating ups the sonic ante with hefty kicks, drill snares and potent throbbing bass, while the vocals describe the feeling of ultimate resistance in the name of seeking the truth.

Side B enters with Synced Energies, acting as the EP’s thrilling climax. Percolating synths pogo around a 2-step beat providing chest-gripping catharsis. Lyrics repeat a mantra of unity, refuting
divisions. Tectonic and Ilian Tape affiliate Walton sees us out with the intense stuttering rave mechanics of his Not Fluctuating remix, a modern techno monster that deserves to be enjoyed on a 10ft tall rig; a complimentary take on a powerful original.

What do clouds sound like?  For 3024's first release of 2023, we are super proud to present an exploration of that question by the amazing Italian-Ivorian producer Ehua on her new EP.  

"Clouds EP" consists of four sonically and energetically varied tracks inspired by the paradoxical nature of these mood-shifting objects, suspended in space. They can be heavy or light, menacing or comforting, distraught or at ease. They are still but in motion, they can cause fear and confusion or give you strength, awareness and empowerment.  Ehua's music combines live handmade percussion and flutes (the ancient Duduk on Nefele and recorder on Vola) with fierce drum programming and synth work.  This is music for the mind and the 'floor! Enjoy.

Hessle Audio welcomes Toumba to the label with the four track EP ‘Petals’. Based in Amman, Jordan, Toumba explores Levantine microtonality, rhythms, play styles and timbres across the record. Lead track ‘Istibtan’ is a twist on a typical Jordanian wedding song with deep subs providing the foundations, while 'Petals' rides on the heavy swing which is unique to music from the south of Jordan. On the flip side, 'Hazzeh' deconstructs Dabkeh, while the EP is rounded off with 'Identity Crisis' which is four minutes of lilting melodies all in Maqam Rast but played in an untraditional way.

Toumba is a producer, DJ and sound designer and is a curator at MNFA, a club and arts space in Jordan’s capital Amman. A nationally respected artist, Toumba also holds a residency at the MMAG Foundation. The foundation works with a selection of the most gifted artists in the Levant, providing a space for artistic research, production and critical discourse.

Kouslin returns to Livity Sound with a second collection of slippery club tracks after the 2020 Vision E.P. With an emphasis on head-twisting sound design and a detailed line in percussive programming, the London-based producer continues to reach into intriguing new areas without forsaking soundsystem-ready physicality.  

The tracks which make up the Patterns E.P. stemmed from a period of personal experimentation, where Kouslin returned to making music for its therapeutic benefits rather than a fixed purpose. The loops and sketches he returned to and expanded upon for this EP bristle with originality at every turn. 

There is a continued exploration of dancehall rhythms on ‘King’, while ‘Five Four’ toys with time signatures for a jagged, fast-paced abstraction of techno. ‘Why Don’t You Don’t’ is harder to pin down thanks to its knotty beat and mutant synthesis, and ‘Michael’ flips the script further with an unexpected swerve into pearlescent melodic lead lines – the perfect demonstration of the honest and instinctive approach Kouslin took when making these tracks.

Dublin DJ/producer Sputnik One shares the second offering from his recently launched label N-Face - the follow up to 2022’s debut release Supa Natural/Grafters ft. Belfast-based rapper EMBY which was supported by Ben UFO, CCL, DJ Voices and more.

The club-destroying compilation spans 10 tracks, featuring bubbling bass and glitchy breaks through cheeky wafters to fresh and exciting techno and dancefloor mutations from a total of 11 artists and groups from three continents. Rising talents Dual Monitor, Glimmerman, LWS & No Sir join label head Sputnik One & K-Wata, as well as fresh faces St. Amp, Outl1er, DJ Gerard, Puncta and Young Muscle. N-Face 002 V/A showcases the Dublin artist’s strong vision and A&R hand and celebrates some of the most talented underground heads about. Holloway makes his long-awaited return to All Centre with Dust 2 Dust, featuring two tracks in the style of his 2018 release Agar Oud.

The title track opens with UK funky-inspired rhythms, guided by offbeat toms. Glitchy arpeggiated synths hover above hard-hitting subs, before the introduction of a pitch-gliding bassline, with broken rhythms punctuated by rolling drum fills and soaring dub sirens.

On the flip, Send It On kicks off in a menacing half-time groove. Roaring basslines envelope the listener as precise snares and punchy kicks propel the track forward. The track emphatically breaks down half way through before switching back into the track’s rolling percussive patterns.

Label boss Bluetoof returns for his second contribution to the INFA series 
the third release on the label. the e.p titled "diggin a hole" explores the sonic identity of 2 found artefacts, pictured in the artwork. 

the title track "Diggin a hole" starts slowly setting the scene for the rest of the project, building atmosphere, with dubbed out percs and spaced out foley, echoing a feeling of tension and unease until advancing into the next stage of the "dig"progressively through the track a mind warping arpeggio leads the track into the final percussive advance. 

the second track "the hole got deeper" mimics a lot of structural elements of the A side, peppered with heavier drumming building constantly throughout, crescendoing into a synth line that becomes almost completely silent, before a dubbed out siren opens the main drop, a hollowed bass melody carries the track through to an optimistic ending and change in mood symbolising the discovery of the pictured artefacts. 

the final track of the release "cavernous" is a sonic representations of the environment the found artefacts occupied in the time they where made, an eery call echoes at the start of the track, with an advancing synth line leading the percussion forward giving the sense of a hunt taking place. the eery dubbed call continues to be repeated through the track with the constantly evolving percussion paired with the footstep like kick drum patterns, reinforcing the feeling of being chased or escaping something. 
the track intensifies as the melodic percussion rushes to a drum heavy summit.
