For episode 48 we present Malmö based Vederkvikk, one of the musketeers behind Tillfällig dansplats. He always bring the required beat to the boogie zone. Armed with an extensive techno library as his foundation, Vederkvikk’s sound draws heavy influence from various styles like breaks, dub, hardgroove and hardtechno. With his significant rapid beats and rib punching kicks he has used his genre fluidness to spice things up and deliver unique sessions to dance floors all over southern Sweden.

Interview with Vederkvikk:

Q: What made you start DJing?
A: A good friend of mine was playing some sweet deep house at a student pup which I attended. He asked me if I wanted to learn the basics and I jumped on the opportunity. I immediately got hooked and ended up standing in that DJ-booth the whole night. After that I got myself a cheap controller and worn it out.


Q: Describe your style in three words.
A: Fast, punchy and unpredictable


Q: Your best set in 2023/2024?
A: Tricky one! Have had the chance to play in front of so many nice crowds this year. But if I have to pick one I guess it has to be the closing disco set I played this summer at Beach garden. Overlooking the waves in Öresund as people dance into the sunset. 


Q: Your favorite track right now?
A: Toter Schmetterling by Klangkuenstler


Q: A track you never get tired of?
A: Nuits Sonores by Floating Points is perhaps one of the best songs that has ever been produced and I keep coming back to it. 


Q: Where can one find the best falafel in Malmö?
A: Putting quality aside I have to say Clemens. Still delivering a decent falafel for only 25 sek and that deserves some credits.

As a resident DJ at Silodom and a key figure in Saarbrücken’s techno scene, Tony Mejeh has made a name for himself with his driving, groovy sounds. He is also known as one of the creators of the queer event Dôme d’Amour, which has found its home at Silodom.

His gigs have taken him to renowned clubs such as Tanzhaus West (Frankfurt), Cassiopeia (Berlin), and even internationally to Radion (Amsterdam).

With a blend of Tech House and Hard Groove, as well as his own productions, he brings a distinctive touch to his sets. His high-energy performances and musical versatility make him a DJ who keeps the dancefloor moving—whether locally or on the international stage.
